Overview & Reviews
A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.
Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

Loud Ride - 2011 Hyundai TUCSON
By SM - December 31 - 10:00 amI am extremely disappointed with my purchase. I traded in a great Veracruz to get better gas mileage and have better interior features. The car inside is fine but the road noise on the highway is overwhelming. I drive 25 miles each way to work, all highway, and am so disappointed with the noise. I actually had the car checked for mechanical problems and found it was the tire noise. The tires they chose for the 18" wheels are so sub par and not inline with a Limited model. The gas mileage is also no where near 30.

Bad Gas Mileage - 2007 Hyundai TUCSON
By rainybstn - November 21 - 9:03 pmI bought my 2007 Hyundai Tucson SE 4dr SUV (2.7L 6cyl 4A) at the end of 2007. I thought i had done significant research, but I must have missed the complaints about gas mileage. Although I really like the feel of the car, I expected better than 14mpg city and 18 hyw. I change my oil every 3k and have never missed a scheduled maintenance. The quilaity of paint is also very poor. Scratches very easily.

Love the Tucson - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
By JC - November 8 - 3:06 pmHave had the Tucson 4+ years and still is fun to drive, good in winter and air con works great in summer. Own an Acura MDX as well but end up taking the Tucson everywhere. Could buy a new car but afraid another car wont be as much fun or as reliable...

New owner - 2008 Hyundai TUCSON
By longbeachjohn - October 8 - 3:40 pmDrove a 6cyl then a 4 cyl and there was very little difference in performance. Car has good space inside, controls and features great. I appreciate the safety stuff like traction and stability control and all the airbags. First weekend cruise got 24+ mpg, mixed bag intown and freeway at 75+. Will update in the future. Like to see more cubby holes for things like cel phone.

Good SUV - 2012 Hyundai TUCSON
By tfarina - October 2 - 3:06 amHyundai continues to surprise. This is fine, reliable SUV. Packed with safety features and excellent build quality. Over 5 thousand miles and no problems. Gas mileage is good too. Between 25 and 30 mpg if you stay within speed limit. If Hyundai addresses road noise, ( loud on course pavement ) this vehicle will move to the top of the class.

Stiff - 2011 Hyundai TUCSON
By kws1949 - September 1 - 5:07 amDont expect to ride cloud 9. My GLS will make running over a mouse feel like a speed bump! Suspension is VERY stiff...and so is the handling...will turn on the blink of an eye. Heating system is so-so. Comfortable for smaller people but as Im a BIG man, the seats are not built for me. AWD helps in the rain and snow here, which is the major reason I purchased the car.

Gas mileage not what manufacter claims - 2011 Hyundai TUCSON
By mike - August 19 - 10:00 amIf I could do it over I would have held out for gmc terain, same price more horse power and better fuel economy. Also the Hyundai sheet metal is very thin and dents easy, I am trying to find side molding to put on to keep from getting door dinged. The paint on the limited seems poor quality, look close and you can see the flex in the sheet metal because of the thin layer of paint that chips easy. Hyundai still needs work. Design it is cool little SUV drive and handles good. More power and better fuel economy. My old Malibu maxx was a 2006 and got way better gas mileage with a 3.5 v6. At 215 hp.

A surprise - 2007 Hyundai TUCSON
By fathoms - August 13 - 11:56 pmWith 25K miles and perfect reliability This vehicle runs just as smooth and quiet as when it was new. It was purchase as a local drive around vehicle but we were surprise at its manners on the highway. Quiet smooth comfortable ride and averages on trips about 25.5 MPG. We opt to use it for long trips.

Tuscon for Corvette - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
By Sam - July 10 - 8:46 amTraded 2002 Corvette for 05 Tuscon (even). Drastic change but no visits to service dept. after 1800 miles. Corvette couldnt pass dealership without needing service. Nice comfortable vehicle so far. Good use of space and comfortable ride. Believe it or not, better milage on the Vette. Main reasons for purchase (swap) warranty and even swap for vehicles. Had 75000 miles on Vette. Ran out of warranty in 20 months. Wont happen with Tuscon.

Great Car for the Money - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
By JimandMaryC - July 7 - 8:10 pmOur dealership bent over backwards to help us find the perfect vehicle. As soon as I got in our Tucson, I knew that it was the one. Its great on gas and peppy. Its comfortable. Plus its got great little extras, such as hooks in the cargo department to latch grocery bags onto so they dont slide! We are so happy with it.
