Overview & Reviews
The Elantra received a slight refresh for this year in the form of a new hood, deck lid, front and rear bumpers, grille, headlamps and taillights. Interior revisions include a redesigned instrument cluster, vents, center console and climate controls. The engine has been fitted with continuously variable valve timing, and it is now sold in SULEV or ULEV configurations (depending on the state in which it's purchased) which offer horsepower ratings of 138 and 132, respectively. The base GLS model now offers remote keyless entry as standard equipment, while GT models now have a Kenwood CD/MP3 audio system as standard.
- Solidly built, powerful engine for its class, plenty of standard features, ultralow price tag, long warranty.
- Poor offset crash test score, antilock brakes available only as a package option.

My New Toy - 2004 Hyundai Elantra
By Robcros3 - August 30 - 2:00 amI just bought my first Hyundai. I was in a Malibu 2 times prior to this purchase. I wasnt too keen on the Hyundais but I saw this one and test drove it since my budget didnt allow for much I kept an open mind. I was pleasantly surprised!! Its perky, and it handles very well on tight curves and it bad weather.I love all the gadgets that came with it. So far I am very happy with my Hyundai Elantra GT.

By krolick - August 30 - 2:00 ambought brand new never has one before make or model, very nice test drive it really sold us on the car. The comfort and performance has been the best of any car we have owned. for a small car it has a LOT of room. our kids are all grown 6 and up and they can sit comfortable in front or back good leg room and head room. Love it will get new version when we trade for new car.

My new Elantra - 2004 Hyundai Elantra
By James M B - August 30 - 2:00 amI took my new Elantra out for the first time, after signing the paperwork, in the middle of a snow storm. Experiencing the way this 5- speed handled in bad weather confirmed my suspicions, trading my old Elantra for a new one was a great move. Ive owned Hyundais for a lot of years now and even sold them for a while and would recommend the Hyundai product line to anyone looking for a finely engineered, reliable, well warranteed and inexpensive vehicle.

Cheers for Elantra GT - 2004 Hyundai Elantra
By Gary Atherton - July 18 - 2:00 amI have had my GT for a year now and I couldnt be happier with it. I have returned to the dealership only once and that was for a recall notice. Even the usual "little things" that accompany a new vehicle have not appeared.

Hyndai Elantra GT 2004 - 2004 Hyundai Elantra
By SmithVincent - July 7 - 10:00 amBought an Silver Hyundai Elantra GT 2004 Model in third week of June 2004 in the state of NJ. Paid $13900 OTD ( incl taxes etc). Excellent car... lots of power. Delivers avg mileage of 28.5 mpg. Was debating between Civic, Corolla, sentra and Elantra. Civiv would have been the first choice but its expensive even with the most basic features. Corolla has no power at all. Seating is a bit awkard too. Little more pricier than Elantra. Sentra has bad crash test ratings and looks are a turn off. Elantra has a good balance of all.

Hyundai Elantra - 2004 Hyundai Elantra
By SteveSwims1984 - April 24 - 2:00 amI bought this car in July of 2003 and three days later I went on an 1800 mile road trip to NH. During the time I was amazed with the fuel economy and the quiet and ride comfort in a car that was less than 15,000 dollars with all the options. Some of my favorite features on the car include the comfortable seats, the knob on the 5-speed, and the cool blue lit dials for the speedometer and tachometer.

Great Deal for Fun wheels - 2004 Hyundai Elantra
By flavtech - March 12 - 2:00 amI have had my Elantra GT for 1 month and about 2000 miles now and can say it has beem a great experience so far. It is stylish has adequate performance (although a closer ratio gearbox and a bit more clutch feel would be welcome) and is pretty comfortable on a long trip. It could also use a bit sportier sounding exhaust system in as the engine is almost too quiet. Overall though it reminds me of the original Volkswagen GTI with an extra set of doors.
