This Year's Model Updates:

The Elantra received a slight refresh for this year in the form of a new hood, deck lid, front and rear bumpers, grille, headlamps and taillights. Interior revisions include a redesigned instrument cluster, vents, center console and climate controls. The engine has been fitted with continuously variable valve timing, and it is now sold in SULEV or ULEV configurations (depending on the state in which it's purchased) which offer horsepower ratings of 138 and 132, respectively. The base GLS model now offers remote keyless entry as standard equipment, while GT models now have a Kenwood CD/MP3 audio system as standard.

Pros:
  • Solidly built, powerful engine for its class, plenty of standard features, ultralow price tag, long warranty.
Cons:
  • Poor offset crash test score, antilock brakes available only as a package option.

  • Great buy!! Lot of car for a low price!! - 2004 Hyundai Elantra

I have been typically a GM man. I was rather hesitant when my wife suggested going and test driving a Hyundai. The last I remember about foreign cars was they fell apart rather quickly; within 5 years or so. Also, they were an arm and leg to fix. Well, I found out differently. It is a great car. It handles well. It is a sterdy car. It is comfortable to ride in and is fun to drive. I was rather impressed to say the least. You will get your moneys worth out of this car.

Well Ive driven pick-up trucks for the past 12 years so this small sedan is a bit of a departure for me. My wife did have a 99 Nissan Maixma SE for a few years, and while this would never be confused with a Maxima, it is fun. So far I love the way it drives. Its effortless. It dives into corners and zips through traffic. Basically for the money it cant be beat. I had looked at the Mazda 3s and to get it with the same features as the Elantra GT would have cost 4-5K more. The Nissan Sentra is... well a Sentra. The Hyundai warranty is simply the best.

This is a great car. Handles turns very, very well, and is great on gas. I work hard for my money and all I wanted was an affordable car. Well, I got that and everything else...sunroof,leather,fog lights, peppy 130hp engine with more than enough torque, & a great sound system. I have never been able to afford all that. I thought it was only for the rich to enjoy. Test drive this car, you will not be unimpressed.

  • Very good starter car - 2004 Hyundai Elantra

Ive had this car for more than a year now and Ive had NO problems with it! Its slower with the pickup than Im used to, but it keeps up with traffic pretty well! Its got awesome handling and has saved me from quite a few accidents (DC traffic can be lethal!) The ABS brakes have also come in handy a couple times in the rain and snow! I dont think the stereo is as amazing as people say it is, but for a factory system, its not bad!

auto has had many repairs (under warranty), but still have had to go into the dealer to have the reapirs done and it take the servic department several hours at a time. I would never recommend this car to anyone. Save yourself the trouble.

  • STUPENDOUS car!!!!! - 2004 Hyundai Elantra

This is one of the best vehicles I have ever drove!! It does just about everything right. I own a 2002 Hyundai Elantra GLS nad it has over 40500 miles on it. I can honestly say that I havent had any problems with it yet. The ride is smooth and quiet, and the engine delivers decent power and acceleration.

You get everything you want in a car like this. For example, you get a electric sunroof, leather interior, a very very loud cd stero system,. also the comfort and the speed in this car is awsome for what you need it for. beside the looks you have a car that should value over $30,000 dollars and you get in for under $15,000. Also, have I forgot to tell you the 5yrs, unlimeted milage assitants. alos theres a ten year drive training warrenty. My amzed worlds where why HYNDAI and not the othaers. well you sold me and on my way for the Santa Fe 3.5 ltr. Can not help my self . Emmanuel

Purchased the car a few days ago. No options on this 5spd hatchback. Paid 14,800 for it minus the 750 rebate. Nice car. Bought it for the styling, price and warranty. I heard the rebate just went up today!
