Overview & Reviews
The Elantra received a slight refresh for this year in the form of a new hood, deck lid, front and rear bumpers, grille, headlamps and taillights. Interior revisions include a redesigned instrument cluster, vents, center console and climate controls. The engine has been fitted with continuously variable valve timing, and it is now sold in SULEV or ULEV configurations (depending on the state in which it's purchased) which offer horsepower ratings of 138 and 132, respectively. The base GLS model now offers remote keyless entry as standard equipment, while GT models now have a Kenwood CD/MP3 audio system as standard.
- Solidly built, powerful engine for its class, plenty of standard features, ultralow price tag, long warranty.
- Poor offset crash test score, antilock brakes available only as a package option.

Great Deal for Its Kind - 2004 Hyundai Elantra
By PsychGuy - August 16 - 2:43 amAfter always driving large vehicles (Pickups & SUVs), I made the switch to my 2004 Elantra GLS. I have been very happy with it. I was also impressed on how well it handles during the New England winters. It has been a very reliable vehicle and for the money it beats any other car in its class hands down.

My favorite little car - 2004 Hyundai Elantra
By Texas Bill - August 14 - 10:00 amI bought this little car in Sep 2001, to date have put over 30000 miles on it. Gas mileage is consistently over 30 mpg (due to a 100 mile a day commute). The comfort and performance are excellent for its class. I regularly recommend it to friends, two of whom have bought Hyundai products. I regularly get comments on its styling and questions about reliability and economy of operation. Im 65 years old, and would willingly buy another Hyundai Elantra.

If You Can Pay Less Than $300 A Month - 2004 Hyundai Elantra
By galeval - July 28 - 10:00 amWhat I really like about this care is that you dont need a lot of space for parking. One of my main goals in purchasing this car is the monthly payment. I dont what to pay a car note that was more than my student loans. My car note is less than $300 a month (for 5 years), even with the features I pay extra for like automatic pop-up sunroof with sunshade.

my car - 2004 Hyundai Elantra
By JacquiH - July 22 - 10:00 amI am most satisfied with the vehicle warranty. We purchased the extended warranty, even though we probably wont need it. When I purchased my first new car, I purchased a Hyundai for the price and the warranty. The car itself caused me to purchase Hyundai again. I do alot of driving in my field of work and the car was/is always reliable.

Excellent value! - 2004 Hyundai Elantra
By bearcat - July 9 - 10:55 pmI got this car for ~$10000, and I cannot believe the features I have got for that price! Ive got AC, power everything, excellent ride quality, great warranty. Never had a problem since I bought it, no adjustments no hassles at all. However I have been told that there is a recall for some airbag issue. I have not found another car with the same features and reliability at this price.

The Newest Car I Ever Owned - 2004 Hyundai Elantra
By T. S. - July 6 - 1:31 amI just recently bought my 2004 Elantra and it had 25,000 miles on it. It runs like it was brand new. I love this car inside and out. It comfortable, starts right up and it a smooth drive. This is the newest car I ever owned. I used a 92 Talon as a trade in. I miss the Turbo, but love the reliability of this car so much more. I would recommend the Elantra to anyone looking at one.

The Elantra is the Best! - 2004 Hyundai Elantra
By Hector/Hector - May 20 - 10:00 amThe Elantra outperfroms all cars in its class except one, The Toyota Corolla. The Elantra does not outperform the Corolla but ties it! The Elantra has a higher top speed then all cars in its class! Since I;ve been driving my car, it gives me a reason to drive. The interior is welcoming and secured. The exterior has a sexy European look. Since Oct. 2000 I have never had any problems with my 2001 Hyundai Elantra. Not only do you get more than just an ordinary car, but you also get an unordinary warranty! 10years/100,000 miles on the engine!! Now, thats tight! Pick the Elantra, it is guaranteed to be the best choice in the class!
