Overview & Reviews
In an effort to mold its image into that of a serious first-rate automobile manufacturer, Hyundai has recently added standard equipment and enhanced the performance of several of its cars. The redesigned Accent and new Sonata are proving that this South Korean automaker has finally learned how to build a good car. The current Elantra provides even more proof, and the company offers an industry-leading warranty program to back it up.
- Solidly built, powerful engine for its class, plenty of standard features.
- The price on this "inexpensive" Korean car keeps going up.

No Hassles, Great Value, Happy Customer - 2000 Hyundai Elantra
By djh10 - January 19 - 2:00 amI needed a reliable car that can haul a lot of bulky stuff. This thing is probably the best purchase decision I have ever made. This thing has been awesome. My only complaint is that the factory (Kumho)tires gave out pretty soon. I got every option possible and nothing has broken yet. (26700 mi.) Mileage has been a little disappointing in the city, but I make a lot of 0-2 mile trips with A/C on in Phoenix weather. Highway = 33-34 mpg. City 22- 24 mpg.

2000 Hyundai Elantra - 2000 Hyundai Elantra
By Glenn Gillis - January 16 - 2:00 amBeen a reliable car so far, but, I have this sneaking suspicion that the drive train will start having problems after the 100,000 mile warranty runs out. Only major problem has been a problem with the brake caliper sticking. Also a replacement battery was installed on 1/03, but, considering that this is a manufatcters battery....

# 1 Car 2000 Hyundai Elantra GLS - 2000 Hyundai Elantra
By Ingridjoe - December 21 - 2:00 amI just had this car for three months and I love it,would not get rid of it for nothing.I plan on staying with Hyundai cars. The ride is smooth and i love the sunroof. I think a rear spoiler would make it look as good as other vehicles. We got a good deal with low mileage.

not bad for the buck - 2000 Hyundai Elantra
By al b. - December 17 - 2:00 amI purchased my car in 1999 and have 76000 miles on it at the current time. The main reason why I purchased the elantra was because of the warranty. this car has plenty of pep and the handling is awesome. The only problem I had with this car was the radiator upper hose was leaking, the dealer replaced the upper and lower hose at no cost.

Not worth the money - 2000 Hyundai Elantra
By Jlanders - November 23 - 2:00 amThe car with waranty is great, but you dont get a much of a car.The car is noisy, underpowered and cheaply built.Accelaration is poor and handling is terrible. The seats arent comfortable neither is the ride.Decent gas milage and good waranty but overall not a good pick in cars.

By HAPPY IN CHARLOTTE - November 21 - 2:00 amHAD TO REPLACE TIRES AT 30000. OTHER THAN THAT CAR IS GREAT! YOU CANT BEAT THE QUALITY FOR THE PRICE. HYUNDAI HAS LEARNED THEIR LESSON FROM THE JUNK THEY USE TO PRODUCE. WE HAVE 3 HYUNDAIS IN THE FAMILY AND THEYRE ALL GREAT...ESPECIALLY THE 2003 V6 TIB.

Hyundai Elantra 2000 - 2000 Hyundai Elantra
By JewlToU - November 6 - 2:00 amI have had water leaks twice on drivers side front, keyless entry broke 4 times before they finally replaced actuator, trunk floor collapsed from normal use, radio/cd shorted out, car battery died after 2 years. Back window trim came off after 6 months. Totally disgusted and cant wait to trade it in. My suggestion, get rid of the car before the warranty runs out.

Awesome car...No Problems ! - 2000 Hyundai Elantra
By frleck - November 4 - 2:00 amThis car is the best I have ever owned. The only money we have put into it is for gas and routine maintainance. The only problem was with the tires...they had to be replaced at 15,000 miles. They were completly bald and would not pass inspection.

Silver 2000 GLS sedan 5spd manual - 2000 Hyundai Elantra
By Ruger_11mcrdpi - October 29 - 2:00 amThis car is a gem. I love it. Ive owned mine for two years and two months now, since I bought it new as a late model in 00. The engine is peppy, the styling is nice, the fuel economy is terrific (avg. 32mpg). I have heard reports of bad paint, but I keep mine looking like shes brand new, and the paint is fine! Just buying the first set of tires after the Michelin MXV 4s went after 38,000 miles!! Pretty good for OE tires!
