  • CAR HAS ISSUES - 2007 Hyundai Accent

Check engine light comes on every 5 to 8,000 miles. Coil pack keeps going out when this happens and the car sputters and misses. Also driver airbag not working(red warning light is on). Brakes are not the best either.

  • Girlfriends Car and I Want to Kill It - 2007 Hyundai Accent

Ok this car was bought by my girlfriend in January 2014. Well, from the start it drove great. The handling was good. The transmission was smooth shifting, and it had great gas mileage. Well... February we had issues. Rotors are going, oil control valve had to be cleaned, ecu was replaced along with all coils and spark plugs. We now have a possible head gasket issue. The engine leaks oil like mad through the timing belt case, and we are also losing coolant at a fast rate. Now the engine is misfiring again, and with all the other issues, I am not sure if the car is worth keeping. It is sad that more throw away cars are being built. My 99 Honda Accord is still going strong at 170k miles. Sad

  • Decent little inexpensive car - 2007 Hyundai Accent
    By -

Generally positive so far in the first 65K miles. Had to replace the battery once during a particularly hard winter freeze, and have had to replace the tires already. Other than that, its been painless and gotten me around quite well with no problems and rather comfortably for the price.

  • Follow up to review 8-08, now at 21,000 - 2007 Hyundai Accent

I have now owned this car for 3 years. The inside armrest for the driver cannot bear a lot of weight and is now sagging. I had to have an alignment done because there was so much play in the steering and the car felt so disconnected on bumpy roads it felt downright dangerous to drive. The alignment made it much better but it still doesnt inspire confidence. The battery went out at 12,000 and Im just waiting for the new one to go out. The "passenger airbag off" light is now flickering. The brakes and shocks have held up well so far. The remote for the alarm/unlock/lock has to be pressed several times to get it to work. The stock tires are junk. Plastic panels near right back seat rattle.

  • Wish I had bought American - 2007 Hyundai Accent
    By -

I bought the car during the 2007-2008 fuel crunch for better mileage than my American v8 sedan. Initially, it paid off in dividends. However (gradually) the economy of the car has become less & less. Using synthetic oil, high flow / reusable filter, and upgraded plugs have now changed the decline in economy. Found a bad coil, tail light switch gave out, check engine light on & off, and now having to slam the driver door shut & opening the door to find the panel seems broken ...tomorrow is my dealer appointment to have it looked at.

  • Airbags Failed In High Impact Crash - 2007 Hyundai Accent
    By -

Airbags failed to deploy in a collision traveling at 55 mph and then hitting an embankment as well. Read NHTSA and other consumer complaints regarding this problem with the Accent and other Hyundais and dont find out the hard way. We were very fortunate and everyone walked away from this death trap! Other prior problems include cheap tires from manufacturer that manufacturer and dealership did nothing to correct - referred to tire maker who said they didnt care about the complaint - no exaggeration! And of course car is very uncomfortable.

  • Lemon? I think so. - 2007 Hyundai Accent
    By -

I feel swindled by the Hyundai people. Things started off without any real problems. Never had an accident and I always tried to keep-up with any maintenance. Sadly, after 30000 miles, my catalytic converter is destroyed, Ive had serious ignition problems, and theyve had to replace the spark plugs like clockwork. Just traded that sucker in.

  • Problems from Day ONE!! - 2007 Hyundai Accent
    By -

I bought this car for the gas mileage. About a week after I bought it, I noticed the Tach doesnt work when its cold. The dealership cannot find anything wrong with the tach. About a year after I had it the AIR BAG light came on, and I had the module replaced, now I have around 23000 miles on it, and the battery is shot. Gas mileage right now is around 23MPGs. When the brake fluid is cold, dont touch the brakes. They get really touchy, and can cause whiplash!! It is sluggish going up hills of any size or when more than one person is in the car. I would recommend to everyone not to buy this vehicle!! As soon as I can get rid of it, I am!

  • Nice Looking!! Poor Gas Mileage.:(:(:(:( - 2007 Hyundai Accent
    By -

Girls dig the style, they even say is cute...nice firm seats, great A/C, look twice before changing lanes for acceleration is non existing. Gas mileage after 21,000 miles is about 22mpg. Needed battery after 14,000 miles. Plastic inside scratches easily.
