Overview & Reviews
In the absence of truly ground-breaking improvement, Hyundai revises trim levels, adding GS hatchback and GL sedan midrange models.
- Very inexpensive but not cheaply constructed, feels solid, offers peppy performance

Unbelievable! - 1997 Hyundai Accent
By John - June 8 - 4:34 amWhen I read some of the negative reviews about this car, I think I must have linked to the wrong page. I bought this car brand new in 1997 for under 10K. I have driven it hard for 10 years, in all conditions and terrains. It has never once failed me or cost me more than miscellaneous maintenance money. The car handles great and is fun to drive. The interior and exterior look brand new after years, except where a kid hit a left fender playing street hockey. It now burns a little oil, but after 140K miles, it is forgiven.

Accent is the best! - 1997 Hyundai Accent
By ELISSANB - July 30 - 2:00 amThe 4 dr Accent was the best vehicle I have owned. It is so much fun to drive and has never given me any problems beyond routine maintenance. I have had my car for 4 years, and it will be hard to part with it.

By oh-one - October 6 - 2:00 amMy 97 accent manual hatchback L has babied me more than my mother. i owned good ole L-Swift Mckay from mile zero to mile 103,000. i reluctantly gave him up after 4yrs and 10mos of unadulterated dependability and perseverance.

Hyundai is great buy! - 1997 Hyundai Accent
By coolpop - April 1 - 2:00 amI was very lucky with my Hyundai Accent that I bought in 1997. Never had a single problem, only regular oil changes and maintenance. Now I am selling it for $3000, I think its very reasonable. It has 60,000 miles on it. Gets great mileage, inexpensive tires, etc. Very reliable.
