Overview & Reviews
The 2005 Honda S2000 returns unchanged.
- Agile chassis, rev-happy engine, minimalist design, optional hardtop, high level of performance for the price.
- Could still use some additional low-end torque, shrill engine note at high rpm.

Top Down Performance - 2005 Honda S2000
By Mike K. - May 4 - 6:15 pmLast year, I sold my motorcycle and wanted to fill the empty void in the garage with a rag top. I considered the Lotus Elise, Porsche Boxster and Honda S2000. The Elise certainly performed the best, but unfortunately suffers from kit car looks and limited dealer access. The Porsche, holds its own in terms of performance, but brings with it high maintenance costs. The S2000, combined stellar performance, excellent visuals and rock solid Honda reliability. The VTEC engine is a treat to listen to and continually begs you to drive it at the top of the rev band!

Very nice! - 2005 Honda S2000
By poorwhitefolk - April 28 - 9:42 pmI am a diehard Honda lover. I seen that we took in a 05 Honda s2000 with only 2k on it with the factory hard top and I had to have it. It is a well built and well rounded car. Very fun to drive and handles great. I bought a turbo kit for mine a it really awakened the beast. Wow is all I have to say. Almost 500 hp. I would recommend this car to anyone that doesnt need the room and that is not over 6 ft. Tall.

05 S2000 - 2005 Honda S2000
By Jay - April 15 - 11:46 amIve wanted this car since I sat in it in August of 1999 while taking delivery of my new prelude. It was well worth the wait. This car is everything you could want in a sports car and more. My face hurts from smiling too much every time I drive it.

Im in love with this car! - 2005 Honda S2000
By mrmajestic - January 22 - 12:13 amI gave up a 93K Porsche C4S for this car...not because of money...and I dont miss a thing about the Porsche! I smile every time the top goes down and Im driving down the road in the this Japanese "Alfa Romeo. This car captures all the fun AND beauty of the original Italian convertible but with much more speed and obviously reliability.

Best sports car yet - 2005 Honda S2000
By Dennis - June 13 - 10:40 amAfter 2 years of ownership of the Honda S2000, I can say from experience that this car gives great satisfaction to the driver. It is sleek, responsive, and there are national and international clubs for S-2000 owners to join and go on road trips with. I couldnt be happier. Of my 5 sports cars owned, this one is tops. 30 mpg on the freeway, 25 mpg in the city.

Better than a Miata - 2005 Honda S2000
By Phil Hoilien - March 21 - 9:56 pmOwned two Miatas before the S2000. Great leg room, better performance, better detail, fit & finish.

A treat! - 2005 Honda S2000
By Ursula - January 22 - 2:22 pmI purchased this car after a drunk driver demolished my sensible four door sedan and it was a treat. The car handles beautifully and heads always turn when I drive it through DC with the top down. It is fun to drive, and leaving work with the top down always puts me in a great mood by the time I get home. The only improvement would be the interior - it isnt set up very well and sometimes you can feel cramped.

This Car Will Scoot - 2005 Honda S2000
By DEDE - December 17 - 12:56 amA great buy for the money. Hondas best kept secret. Top is easy to operate and is down in seconds. Performance and handling are great. Sticks to the road as if it was glued there. Doing 90 before you know it. Have had it to 130. Has looks, speed and handles like a dream what more can you ask for. Honda got this one right.

S2000 - 2005 Honda S2000
By Pate - November 10 - 1:18 pmI love the car, its a second car for myself and my husband. Its a fun car to drive. The only problems I have experienced so far are a few stalls after starting it up on a cold/frosty morning. And there is a problem with the stereo cutting out for and coming back on of its own accord a few minutes later. We had it checked and they did not find any problems...

Bullet Train - 2005 Honda S2000
By gardnpc - November 5 - 5:55 pmThis thing corners like its on rails. Its also bullet-proof. Ive got over 11,000 miles on it and not a thing to go wrong. Have averaged about 25 mpg driving aggressively. Not much low end torque, but once you get north of 3,000 rpm, and especially when you V-tech the engine, its a wonderful thing. Highly recommended. The metaphor I like to use is its a precision scalpel compared to a butter knife. Get the New Formula Red, it sears the retinas.
