Overview & Reviews
Indy Yellow is a new color for the 2001 Honda S2000. Floor mats, a rear wind deflector, a clock and an emergency trunk release are also new standard items. Midyear, a removable aluminum hardtop became available and can be retrofitted to all S2000s.
- Agile chassis, rev-happy engine, minimalist design, optional hardtop.
- Not much low-end torque, plastic rear window, no passenger airbag cutoff switch.

Car perfection - 2001 Honda S2000
By DouglasJ - May 14 - 7:48 amHaving owned MANY cars of all types, this one is still my favorite to drive. Its raw, you are connected to the road, and its a blast. Incredibly reliable, 85K miles and only replaced the thermostat. I have a street-legal turbo kit making 300 wheel horsepower and have surprised many cars thinking they would walk by. Ill never sell . . . . ! !

Summer fun - 2001 Honda S2000
By toydriver - April 6 - 12:23 amThis car makes a mundane drive to the QuickShop a hoot! Ive driven 3K mi since buying it used last Fall. Couldnt wait to get it out of the garage this Spring. Every feature of driving with the top down is a pleasure. Accelerating on entrance ramps in 2nd gear to near redline will get your heart pounding. Its like riding in a very well built roller coaster, except youre in total control People still express compliments, envy,"wanna race", and cool depending on age.

Honda S2000 - 2001 Honda S2000
By David Oheim - January 24 - 7:10 pmFUN TO DRIVE!!! The S2000 is the best handling car I have ever driven. It is very powerful for a 4 cylinder. Those looking for a smooth ride need to look for something else. The S2000 has a harsh ride, but it handles awesome. This car is great in tight corners, it is an Autocross king. PURE SPORTS CAR

S2000 3 year review - 2001 Honda S2000
By wake88 - November 17 - 3:14 pmDriving this car is like attaching it directly to your brain and giving it commands. The S2000 goes where you want when you want it to. It is a superior driving machine. Whether you are a good old boy that loves american muscle, or an import umm "artist", a ride in this car will induce an ear-to- ear grin on your face. I have used it as a weekend/fair weather car and have had very few problems. I had the 3 TSBs performed during the first year of ownership which took care of a few noises and nuisances. Since then its been perfectly reliable through two autocross seasons and a recent track day. I recommend this car to anyone who likes to drive, and I dont mean in a straight line.

By toydriver - September 13 - 2:00 amJust bought this rocket this weekend and have spent 2 days enjoying every corner and soaking up the rays with the top down. Sticks to the road like glue. I love looking at this thing. Never owned a roadster before. Didnt know what I was missing. Great build quality.

Its good to DRIVE again - 2001 Honda S2000
By SCoach - April 5 - 2:00 amAfter owning a BMW some years ago, the itch hit for a fun to drive car. This is my first convertible. This car is an absolute blast to drive for an enthusiast. Not certian it would be for a non-enthusiast. Its quick, light on its feet, and surprisingly economical. I had wanted a 911 for many years, but this is more practical, cheaper, and truly just as fun. Reliability seems to be better too. And servicing will be cheaper.

NO OTHER LIKE THIS ONE - 2001 Honda S2000
By SHANNON MCDONALD - March 29 - 2:00 amUnbelievable! For performance, I have yet to see any car with a natural aspirated four cylinder (or six) come close. OK, the 350Z isnt far behind, but I drove both vehicles with a bias FOR Nissan before deciding on the USED Honda. Sorry Datsun enthusiasts, but the Honda has the heart of high performance two- seaters, much like the 240 had in the 70s. I have put 40,000 miles on this car and still get a thrill every time I push the start button. Life is definitely better at 9000 RPM.
