Overview & Reviews
Honda brings out the high-revving, high-horsepower S2000 for 2000. The S2000's naturally aspirated inline four makes an amazing 240 horsepower, sending it to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox.
- Agile chassis, rev-happy engine, minimalist design.
- Not much low-end torque, plastic rear window.

Buy it for Speed, Own it for Life! - 2000 Honda S2000
By bmoreys2k - December 28 - 9:32 amWhen the S2000 was launched I was fortunate enough to have been working at American Hondas headquarters in Torrance. Knowing that it was hand built along with the NSX in Japan is one thing but seeing first hand how the engineering of this vehicle delivered the highest horsepower per liter of any production vehicle at the time was just as astonishing. I have owned this AP1 for years and have enjoyed every minute of it. The AP1 S2000 have a 9K rev limiter and handle with precision. Buy it for speed, own it for life.

Stupid me ... I almost bought a Mustang! - 2000 Honda S2000
By Happy S2000 Owner - May 9 - 8:08 pmThis car is phenomenal . It is the most fun to drive car that I have ever driven. It does everything well, its fast, well balanced, corners like its on rails, blah, blah, blah and it is affordable and reliable. A combination which is unbeatable.

Wwow - 2000 Honda S2000
By andy - April 23 - 3:28 pmi bought this car with 100k on it and i have yet to encounter a problem (and i dont expect any considering the accord we have has close to 300k on it with no problems to date.) To be honest i simply cant keep myself out of this exhilarating machine. Every shift is precise, it absolutely roars at 9k rpm (it doesnt scream like others, but i do have aftermarket exhaust), and above that the chicks dig the leather and convertible top. the gas mileage is outstanding considering the performance it packs (usually at least 25 mpg unless Im really hard on her). talk about bang for your buck...i paid less than 10k for this car and i feel like a million bucks driving it around.

125k and still enjoying - 2000 Honda S2000
By Andy - July 6 - 7:46 amMy children are standing in line waiting for me to tire of my S2000. They all think they will be the beneficiary of my mid life crisis automobile. With over 125000 miles Im still enjoying every moment and every back road we fly down. Oil changes and a security issue with my key starter system have been the only service related issues I have encountered. With retirement looming, my S2000 will even bring additional enjoyment as my wife and I hit the road to visit our grandchildren. The only regret I have is that my grandchildren are not old enough to ride in the front seat. Over regulation of safety concerns prohibits their ability to join me in experiencing the joy of the open road.

Its a Gas Gas Gas .... - 2000 Honda S2000
By TriggerMn - February 17 - 2:18 pmThis is one of the all time must drive cars. The level of entertainment and confidence this 2 seeter inspires is amazing. You feel like you are on the track just going down I5. For a long drive take earplugs or headphones, ragtops just are not the quietest things on the road. My wife even likes it!!

2000 S2000 - 2000 Honda S2000
By 2000 S2000 - November 19 - 6:22 pmI have owned my 2000 S2000 for about a year now. Im in love! For the price range I wouldnt rather have any other vehicle. One can easily appreciate the engineering hours logged on the design of this car after driving it. It might look fun, but it doesnt stop there.

Fun To Drive - 2000 Honda S2000
By Justin - September 19 - 5:22 pmThe handling for this car is amazing for a convertible. The steering wheel and pedals are perfect in placement. The shifter has the shortest throws out of any of its competitors. It brakes 70- 0 in 162 ft. which is in the exotic car range. The only thing this car lacks is torque, but it has the highest horsepower for per liter, 120, than in any other mass produced street car.
