Indy Yellow is a new color for the 2001 Honda S2000. Floor mats, a rear wind deflector, a clock and an emergency trunk release are also new standard items. Midyear, a removable aluminum hardtop became available and can be retrofitted to all S2000s.

• Agile chassis, rev-happy engine, minimalist design, optional hardtop.

• Not much low-end torque, plastic rear window, no passenger airbag cutoff switch.

  This car is for the driving enthusiast, one who appreciates sports car engineering, with an engine that can red line at 9000 rpms you will have nothing but fun out running everything on the road except some of the elite.

  Excellent car but, DO NOT try to make it something its not. A Detroit muscle car. Expensive mistake. Driven properly its the most fun car Ive owned. Tops Mazda RX-7, Toyota Supra and Pontiac Trans Am. Will definitely purchase again.

  Amazing drive, best cornering on the market, best shifting on the market and basically loads of fun...the downfall...do not drive more than 2 hours...tires wear quick...very quick!

  After the initial 1500 miles the engine gained noticable horsepower every 500 miles. Finally around 3500 miles the engine was free revving and much easier to rev up throughout the gears. The suspension specially the shocks are about 5-10% softer than the inital days. Overall the car is much more competitive than its early days.
