Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

This is a very versatile vehicle. The seating options make is so convenient for handling large items or passangers and the ease of switching from cargo to passengers is effortless.

I live my life on the road with 4 active children. The versatility and power, combined with the seating capacity is the best value for your money. On long trips with my family it feels as comfortable as being in our living room. I previously owned the Honda Odessey and traded that van in for the versatility of the all wheel drive. Although the van offered more spacious comfort while seating 7, the Pilot, which can seat up to eight, can take me more places using the same gas milage. Being able to put the back seating down and use as cargo is like having a truck. Very durable with luxurious comfort. Its a big hit with my family.

traded a 96 toyota forerunner for the honda. all was well until i washed it.paint is awful with many oversprays.the plastic front end is way too cheap. honda has gone to far in cutting cost. the plastic in a tide bottle seems far stronger. before you buy look underneath the front end.

  • Road Noise - 2008 Honda Pilot

August 27th, 2008, I took my 2001 4Runner Limited to trade for 2008 Pilot AWD w/entertainment. I need more than five seats and like Pilot appealing. I have a big disappointment, ROAD NOISE! Here is my two cents for potential buyer, test drives on freeway, drive on a road with speed 40 mph or more and try to open back windows. It could break your EARDRUM. I learned how to overcome the road noise by turning on radio as loud as I can take every time I get on freeway.

  • The Best all purpose SUV - 2004 Honda Pilot

I just bought my 2004 Honda Pilot. I had a 2002 Ford Explorer 4x4 Limited (I hated it). The Ford was junk. The Honda Pilot is typical Honda. Well built, well engineered and I am confident that I wont be in the dealer every other week, as I was with the Ford. If you want a really good SUV, buy this vehicle. Most dealers get full MSRP. Dont worry, it is worth it and still less then equally equipped Ford, GMC, Toyota, etc. LOVE IT FOREVER.

Its a great family car with 3rd row seating. Great value for the long term and for safety. One thing they wont tell you is theres no need for the navigation add on if you have an iPhone it has apple car play. It works through the cars display system when you plug in. So nice. Very happy!

  • Lovin my Pilot - 2005 Honda Pilot

I purchased a Honda CR-V in October of 1998. I purchased the Honda because of its reputation and I needed more room for my 2 growing children. Well this year I decided to make a new purchase, I wanted to keep my CR-V because it was paid for but decided against it for personal reasons. So... I traded it in for my 2005 Honda Pilot. Best decision I have made thus far this year. I am totally satisfied with the Pilot and I plan to make Honda a family tradition for myself and my children. I never had a day of trouble from my CR-V, change the oil , brakes and tires and that was it, I was and am truely satisfied with Honda. Next time I am going to get fully loaded, leather seats, and navigation.!

  • good for familys - 2003 Honda Pilot

I love my Pilot, but the things I would changeare: the gas tank only holds enough gas (17 gal I think) @ 15 mile per gallon, to get me throught 6 days. also I hate the noise/vibration when the kids roll down the windows in the middle row of seats. It does take a couple of times to start in the winter.
