Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

It is less than what I expected. Not that comfortable for the passenger. I think the passenger seat should also be automatic. Paint scratches too easy. For the money they could have done better. Not what you would expect out of Honda. Navigation system is not easy to use, waste of money.

The best bad road handling car and versatile suv in my opinion. 23 mpg at 55 / 21 @75mph. Totally reliable and rust free in Wisconsin. Easy to maintain. Driver seat leather is ripped on the riser panel to the seat pad. Radio is poor. Fantastic suv!

My husband and I test drove all SUVs in the range of the Honda Pilot and selected the Honda based on space ( we have children and dogs),economy and look. It gave us the best of what we required for family and sports and ability to carry larger items. After almost one year of ownership we love it even more!

  • My first three months - 2004 Honda Pilot

Owned for 3 months, 7600 miles. It replaced a Ford F150 ex.cab 4X4 & a Focus. I drive a lot and use it as a truck for trade shows. It fills all my needs and I enjoy the performance. I thought I would miss the roominess of the F150. This vehicle has plenty of room and feels much more nimble than the F150. A very pleasant replacement for my daily comute (Focus) too. I added factory keyless entry. I have a couple of minor lingering issues. As received, the right front sill plate(threshold) was loose. It was "repaired" and is now loose again. Dealer installed accent pin striping has chipped twice. I also have a very slight hesitation.

Im a new Honda Pilot owner. What an awesome vehicle. Quiet ride, smooth but powerful engine, and a great high- tech 4WD system for the snow mountains in winter. It has excellent visibility for the driver and the interor is very, very versatile! I have no complaints about the Pilot, and would recommend it to anyone
