Overview & Reviews
Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.
Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

its the little details - 2005 Honda Pilot
By country mouse - January 12 - 10:53 pmI love my Pilot but there are a few improvements that could be made. The extra tripometer is a waste because it zeros out at 1000. There is not a compass on the model w/the entertainment center. I need this feature! The radio controls on the steering wheel are very nice and habit forming, but, the choices should be for a chanel and for scan or next station. You dont need it to change from feature to feature and when you get in the urban areas 6 choices of stations arent enough. Id rather be able to go to the next station and hit it multiple times to find one that sounds right. Over all, drive and comfort is wonderful. The thermostat controlled heat is fantastic. I love my Honda!

Pilot is really, really comfortable - 2007 Honda Pilot
By Ken - January 9 - 2:55 pmThe greatest part of the Pilot is in its comfort. Im 62 and feel very comfortable in this vehicle. Easy to drive and I never get fatigued. Plenty of knee room - good support. Biggest drawback is common with all AWD SUVs - mileage. 17 city - 21 highway, but hey, I knew that. If you want great mileage, buy a Civic or Corolla.

The Accord of SUVs - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Demian - January 9 - 2:40 amWent in looking at the Highlander, 4Runner, and Pilot. Pilot being most expensive. Highlander was too station wagon, the 4Runner was too small. The Pilot was just right. Its not an exciting vehicle, but it does everything very well. Im not a fan of their dashboard design either. Its functional, but too vanilla.

Great SUV, just like all Hondas. - 2005 Honda Pilot
By jda - January 6 - 5:33 amThis is the 10th Honda our family has owned. First SUV. Have had it 3 months and it performs more like a car than an SUV. Has excellent performance and if fun to drive. So far, no problems, build quality is excellent. I think the transmission "hunts" for gears and downshifts more often than I would like, but I am told this should improve as the transmission "learns" how we drive it. We bought it as a 3rd vehicle to have when we have more than 5 people to take somewhere or need more space to haul something larger than a "breadbox".

A garage salers DREAM VEHICLE! - 2004 Honda Pilot
By Mallow1 - January 5 - 10:00 amWeve driven this 5,000 miles so far, and are very pleased with the Pilot. The only problems so far are the uncomfortable headrests, and the fact that the seats dont recline fully as they do in a Dodge Caravan. We bought Honda for its name, though, because weve had good luck with them in the past - our 1991 Honda Accord has 250,000 miles on it and is still going strong!

Back To A Honda - 2003 Honda Pilot
By N4SIR - January 1 - 2:00 amI havent owned a Honda in several years because I outgrew their cars. However, the new Pilot is just my size. I owned a 2001 Ford Windstar. I was pleased though it was big and bulky. The Pilot is shorter has a much tighter turning radious. I am over 61" tall and it is extremely comfortable. It has plenty of storage space and seating capacity. I have put over 1000 miles on it and find that it handles well. It has many features that others charge extra for. I paid $700 less than the MSRP. Its better than a van, SUV or passenger car. Its the best of each of them and a joy to drive. Best of all I know that I have the reliability of a Honda.

Just what a starting family needed - 2008 Honda Pilot
By Out of 714 - December 30 - 1:39 pmWe got the outgoing 2008 Pilot EX-L at a great deal as the 2009s were coming in later that month. We are glad we went with the Pilot as this is my 4th Honda product. Chose the mocha metallic with saddle leather seats. The lighter color gave it the sense of more room and upscale over the gray available in the darker models. Lots of room for the babys carseat and easy hook up to the latches. Tons of room in cargo area with 3rd row folded. Stroller and groceries fit with room to spare. Engine is very smooth and eases with on ramps and passing. The interior is a little dated, but after 5 years of this model, Honda has worked out all the bugs by now
