My pilot came with a bubbled windshield with a ton of bubbles in the sunscreen part of the windshield. Aside from that (and it was repaired under warranty) it has been a great rig. I tow a 2400 pound hardside tent trailer with it and it acts like it barely knows the trailer is there. The brakes are really strong 4 wheel disks. Corners really well. My back hurt all the time in my old car and now, I can drive for hours with no problem. Great car on the freeway with all wheel drive for in the snow.

The Pilot is a very smooth ride with good interior room for up to 8 people. The Pilot is sure footed in even the more severe curves and has powerful takeoff abilities for merging and passing. I find the radio dials etc. a little busy but not too bad. On my test drive I told my wife that it was the nicest vehicle Ive ever driven and 6K later still fel that way.

I had a lot of trouble with my pilot when I first bought it. There was hesitation at 40 mph. After the recall work was done and the replacement of an egr valve it was better but not cured. A lot to have had done on a new car! My seats are not as comfy, like they are losing fluff. But the interior room is the best in this range. My son is 63, 266 pounds! The radio rattles and is of poor quality and there is a lot of tire noise. I wouldnt buy it again and may end up selling it for a Land Cruiser or another Toyota. At least it will keep its value for resale. It is growing on me though.

This SUV rides more like a car than a truck. Quite a nice vehicle over all.

  • Good car but not a good start...... - 2004 Honda Pilot

Bought my Pilot EX-L last Saturday. I like everything about this car and I drove off the lot with my family on Saturday night. While we are driving back home, I noticed that I could not roll down the front and back passenger side windows from the driver side control buttons. In addiion, door lock and unlock buttom from driver side would not work. And last but the least, interior lights would not go off. It has been only two days and I am taking my new Pilot back to the dealer for some minor repair. Its a good car but I would recommend you to check little things like buttons windows and door locks, etc.

Poor people engineering and finish. The dash board has rattled since the day I drove it home. Two attempts to correct it failed. The console is loose. I was told that it was "poor design by Honda". The first time that I tried to pull one of the second row seats forward the release bar came off in my hand. Driving with the front windows down is impossible because of the sound created. Space and time do not allow for all of the inattention to common sense detailing. I previoulsy owned a Ford Explorer for 8 years and 176,000 miles that was much smarter.

After many disagreements, my husband finally talked me into getting an SUV. We did our research got a Pilot. Now I think I would think twice before getting back into a sedan. The ride is smooth, there is plenty of room and overall it is very comfortable for long trips (weve traveled about 16000 miles in it in about 7 months).

First time Honda buyer, pleased with vehicle. It meets all expectations except for outside temp gauge which seems to be 10 degrees off and not pleased with passenger seat not enough adjustments to make it more comfortable. Pleased with regular gas usage. Great for economy in an SUV. Lastly dealership claims not enough knowledge provided to them about this new vehicle.
