Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  • Great vehicle - 2006 Honda Pilot

Greetings to all, this is my first purchase of a vehicle from Japan and I have to say this "Ill never buy anything else" again. My wife and I both love this vehicle, I am 62" & my wife is 52" we both fight over who is driving this vehicle on the next long trip! She hated my Jeep! Oh well, Honda & Toyota have it going on and the & Camry was the other choice, I went with the Pilot due to my size and the ease of entry for me. The Camry was a lot quieter though at 100MPH, yeah, I live in Germany right now & love the Autobhan here!! :) Ciao

  • Everything you need, nothing you dont. - 2003 Honda Pilot

After much research, we ordered a Pilot. The 2 month wait seemed long but it was worth the wait. Everything about this vehicle is Honda quality. There hasnt been a single issue with it in the first 10,000 miles. And the interior is so useful and well laid out. I could go on and on about this vehicle, but will just say that no one will be disappointed with this vehicle. We wouldnt trade ours for anything. But I havent seen the 04 Pilot yet!

  • Love my pilot - 2009 Honda Pilot

I purchased my pilot 3 weeks ago. It is so fun to drive and very comfortable. You cant beat a Honda. The turn radius is exceptional. Love the back up camera.

  • Decent, Roomy SUV - 2004 Honda Pilot

I bought the Pilot because I occasionally need the function of a third row seat and I sought AWD for winter driving in the mountains. I looked at Toyotas 04 4Runner with the optional 3rd row seats and Fords Explorer. I almost bought the Toyota but with the difference in interior room and better seating, the Honda seemed a better choice. The Explorer was a different story; I could not find one optioned the way I wanted and none of the dealerships I went to were interested in finding one. I am only into the 2nd week of ownership and so far fairly pleased.

  • Great cruiser & good mileage - 2006 Honda Pilot

I drive a lot, almost all highway and what a great highway cruiser this is. Plenty of room for my 3 kids and then some, great for vacation and still gets 20MPG at 75MPH. Feels incredibly safe and well built. VERY smooth ride. Basic cloth on EX is gorgeous so passed on the leather, which saves 2-4K. And with a price under $29K, a tremendous value.

  • Cant Take This Car Down - 2003 Honda Pilot
    By -

I purchased this car used/certified with about 10k on. I have driven it from state to state and just love the way it drives. We have dubbed it the "TANK" because we were rear ended twice while sitting at a stand still and virtually no damage to the Honda. The cars that hit us on both occasions folded up like a slinky. Will drive this car until it falls apart. I LOVE IT.

  • Not so happy!!! - 2016 Honda Pilot

Issues so far not resolved are: Settings on command unit like shift to park do not remain set as default. Front end noise like old stiff rubber. Engine miss firing and now wind noise can be heard on drivers door. Maybe there will be some improvement next models year for 2017!

  • 2nd Honda in 8 months - 2007 Honda Pilot

Had an 06 Accord EX-L and then bought the 07 Pilot EX-L. The engine, transmission, and 4WD system are all flawless..."Effortless engagement" are the two words that come to mind when describing these systems. The engine is silky smooth and near silent. The tranny is always in the right gear and never misses a beat. You can barely feel the tug when the rear wheels kick in. Considering the size and weight of the vehicle rides almost as nice as the Accord. Love the size and interior space, great for hauling loads of just about anything around. Could have bought any SUV manufactured by the big 3 and save thousands but still chose the Pilot. Simply put, "Its a Honda."

  • Terrible Radio Reception - 2016 Honda Pilot
    By -

Do not buy a Pilot if you listen to local radio stations. None of the stations are tolerable. They are ALL staticky, volume changing, and fade in and mostly out. I called Honda and they "logged" the issue. The representative did admit that she had heard about this issue before. Another problem is the touch screen being slow to respond. Its frustrating not having a volume knob. The hooks in the cargo area are too high to attach a standard grocery bag. Storage space and compartments are otherwise well thought out. Mileage around town is 22mpg on Eco setting. The ride is smooth and quiet.

  • Has all I need - 2006 Honda Pilot

Very nice vehicle, extremely comfortable and has great amount of room in 2nd row seat, enough room for my giant Britax Marathon rear facing child seat, smooth, plenty of bells and whistles.
