Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  • Great Car - 2004 Honda Pilot

Great vehicle!!! Bought this for my wife and Im getting a little jealous because it has exceeded our expectations. Smooth ride with a smooth interior. I would recommend the tan interior if you can get it. For some reason it makes the car look a little richer. Honda Cars of McKinney Texas made us a great deal. Stop in and see Elbony, she will hook you up.

This car drives great and gets decent gas mileage. I am getting 17 MPG in the city. The interior is very quiet and comfortable. I especially like the extra set of radio controls on the steering wheel. There are plenty of DC outlets for powering a lot of accesories i.e. CD/DVD players, etc. It has plenty of power expecially at the higher revs. My only complaint is that it does not have a second row of captains chairs. This would make access to the rear seat much easier and still be able to seat 7 people. Other than this one area, I am totally satisfied with this vehicle and would definitely buy again.

We looked around very hard before buying our Pilot and we believe that we got the best for our money. Sure there are other SUV that are better in some areas but the Pilot got our vote because overall it had the most for the money. It stops very fast if you are driving at high speed. It rides smooth compare to others. It is roomier than others and it carries a lot more than what the brochure says, trust me we have tried. Fuel consumption is better than what the brochure says. It does get 25mpg on the highway and fully loaded with 5 people it still gets 24mpg. We just love it.

  • Honda solid - 2003 Honda Pilot

Solid is the best way to describe this vehicle. Lots of room, quality, safety, practicality and a good sound system. Very comfortable and high resale value. Does everything exceptionally well. Looks are, well ........ unremarkable but certainly not offensive. Honda describes it as classic SUV. This vehicle is about 4-6 " wider than most SUVs and weighs nearly two tons. As a result, it provides terrific traction in the snow. If you do all of the research and then opt for a different SUV, Ill be really surprised. In terms of the money, quality and value, I dont think you can do better. Its a terrific vehicle and priced under $30,000.

  • The interior reminds me of an 86 Blazer - 2016 Honda Pilot

I mean no disrespect to the 86 Blazer. It was a good value. The cheap seat material, sea of cheap plastic, and lack of features do not equal a $32,000 car, Honda.

Exactly what I wanted. No issues at all.

Great vehicle and have no regrets buying it. Rides great, runs strong, and has tons of storage space. Seems like a bargain compared to most other SUVs. Rear entertainment system is great and I highly recommend getting it. Roof rack is functional compared to MDX which adds even more carrying capacity. Styling wont turn heads but neither do I.

  • So Far So Good - 2004 Honda Pilot

We have owned a Pilot for 2 months now and love it. Initially I refused to even consider one because I didnt like the wimpy look of the front end and it didnt offer a sunroof. The ride is really smooth and I love the look of the interior, very rich. Id hoped to get around the same gas milage as my 2000 Odyssey but that is not the case. At first I had some problems when starting the truck. After taking it in, I found out its the WAY I start the truck that was the problem. I was putting the key in the ignition and turning the key to fast. Something about a microchip in the key. I start it slower now and havent had any trouble.

Before buying this, I did long test drives of Toyota Highlander and Pilot back to back. Although the Highlander has better looks, pickup and performance, the steering response was non-existent, it was like playing a video game. Also, the space after the last row on the Highlander was minimal, and the last row did not have a split seat. Pilot on the other hand did not have great pickup, but once you get to the highway speeds, it performed remarkably well. The ride quality and steering response were excellent. The utility factor is awesome, with 110v outlet, ipod link etc. Also, I sat much more comfortably and had a better view of the road than the Highlander. Overall a great family SUV.
