Overview & Reviews
Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.
Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

So far, so good... - 2005 Honda Pilot
By golfguy - October 14 - 3:19 pmBought this pilot used about 1 year ago and so far it has met my high expectations. It rides great, has plenty of interior room for anything we want to carry, will pull a medium sized trailer with no problem, and Im happy.

This is my 6th HONDA! Love Them!! - 2006 Honda Pilot
By debby - October 13 - 1:06 amLove Honda and love this SUV. I was sad when I traded my Accord, but so happy that I did. I do a lot of long distance travel and the ride is as smooth as the Accord and the extra space for transporting items is great.

Too truck-like - 2009 Honda Pilot
By Louielouie - October 9 - 5:12 pmJust returned from a 3500 mile trip. At real world Interstate speeds (75-76 mph) I was able to squeeze out 21.5 mpg. A bit low but this is a big box! Suspension is a bit too stiff and with a truck type tire and stiffer steering than our previous two vehicles (07 Pacifica & 02 Highlander) you never feel like youre part of the vehicle. Bucket seats are firm but comfortable. Plenty of cubby holes and storage compartments but interior trim materials are hard to the touch and unattractive. Sound system is just OK. 02 Highlander sound system has better features. Glad we leased. Engine Mgmt. system works well. No discernible sensation when system shuts down or turns on cylinders.

Our first SUV - 2006 Honda Pilot
By KR - October 8 - 1:32 amPilot 2006 is our first SUV. We bought it brand new and put 40K on it and it is as reliable and dependable as it was on day 1. I love the way they equipped it with very cheap maintenance. We get family over a lot and Pilot hauls up to seven adults with no compromise on performance. Leather quality and color, touch screen navigation, very comfortable seats, roomy and classy.

Couldnt be happier! - 2003 Honda Pilot
By Happydrivers! - October 4 - 2:00 amI love my Pilot. I read all these reviews before I bought mine in 10-02. Best things about the Pilot are-its a Honda, very reliable! The center console area has tons of storage, plus a place to set my purse w/o it being on the floor. There is a lot of head room, and space on the back seat for 3, plus the 3rd row seat lays perfectly flat for storage. For the amount of space, power, smooth ride, and resale value...the Pilot is worth every penny!

Darn close, but no cigar?? - 2003 Honda Pilot
By carman34 - October 2 - 10:00 amThis car fits our needs to the "T". There is flexibility of having room for the kids and when needed, room to haul large items. The engine has next to the best gas mileage for a mid-sized SUV with the exception of the MDX; mixed commute driving is 18-20. Handling and ride are tops, again with the exception of the MDX. The engine is surprising quiet and relaxed even at 3,000 to 4,000 rpms when compared to other SUVs. The seats are actually comfortable, except for the thin padding behind the "activity tray". The storage pockets throughout the vehicle are proving more useful than one would think possible.

Honda Pilot 04 - 2006 Honda Pilot
By bec - September 30 - 2:03 pmThis vehicle rides as smoothly and quietly as any car and is a pleasure to drive. It is easily manuverable, corners well, and is not sluggish in passing situations. Gas mileage is acceptable for this type of vehicle and the interior features are easily utilized and convenient. It is asthetically pleasing and turns heads, which is uncommon for a SUV. It lives up to Hondas high quality standards and is user friendly, both for family and individuals. It is roomy inside and able to haul a lot of cargo, kids, supplies, etc. Seating configuration is good and easily modified and accessed. I really cannot think of anything I dislike about the Pilot.
