This Year's Model Updates:

Leather-equipped EX models get heated seats and side mirrors as standard equipment. Honda has improved the navigation system this year with a larger database, and all models have improved walk-in accessibility to the third-row seat. All Hondas have a seatbelt reminder system added for 2004.

Pros:
  • Roomy interior with eight-passenger seating, versatile storage and cargo-hauling abilities, many standard features, comfortable ride.
Cons:
  • Mediocre towing capacity, feels big behind the wheel.

  • LOVE OUR Honda Pilot - HIGHLY Recommend - 2004 Honda Pilot

We absolutley LOVE our Honda Pilot. We actually purchased it September 7, 2002 (right after they came out) so we were somewhat sceptical about purchasing a NEW model thinking the "kinks" probably needed to be worked out since it was a NEW MODEL vehicle. BUT, I can tell you, it is the GREATEST vehicle we have ever owned. We have two small children (under 4 years old) and it is GREAT as a family vehicle (without having to drive a mini-van)the comfort is GREAT, the room is GREAT, but we own the EX (without leather), so it doesnt have the "feel" of a luxury vehicle (like a Lexus, etc.), it does "feel" like a Honda on the interior.

  • THE BEST CAR OF THE YEAR - 2004 Honda Pilot

I think the Honda Pilot EX is the best car of the year. Im 61 and 245 pounds. I feel very comfortable behind the wheel. I live in NEW YORK CITY and this car can handle the rough roads very well. The Pilot EX is the best car I ever drove. I been in all type of SUVs and the HONDA Pliot EX is by far the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Smoooth - 2004 Honda Pilot

I purchased a 2004 EX, the 2003 had too much road noise(tires I presume). So I waited. I was impressed with this 2004, quiet, handling, comfort, and quality. I have less than 1000 miles showing but getting 20-21 mpg average driving which is not bad for a suv that weighs in at 4,440! We bought it because most Hondas with automatics can be towed flat on the ground behind a M/H.

  • Lovin It! - 2004 Honda Pilot

I wanted an SUV for our family NOT a mini van! With three children and another on the way we figured it would be difficult to find one with the rooom we wanted. The Pilot is perfect! So roomy for the kids the Pilot seats 8 so the kids dont have an excuse to have to "touch" each other. Its sporty looking so its away from the mini van look. The gas mileage is great in this vehicle for an suv. No interior road noise or is at a minimum and is so smooth on the road....We also loved the fact that it had a 5 star safety rating! we love our pilot!

  • Pilot is a Good Choice - 2004 Honda Pilot
    By -

Have had our Pilot for over a year and a half now and are very happy with it. Traded in a 97 Blazer w/o 4-wheel drive, which was scary to drive in the snow with, not to mention the teeth- chattering ride and consistent steering/suspension problems. In the Pilot, we feel 100% safer now. Very few problems. Excellent Honda quality. Very sure-footed, smooth transmision, lots of power and storage space and most of all, quiet smooth ride.

  • Boring but useful - 2004 Honda Pilot

Boring and cheap instrument panel design, but great interior design in term of usability. I wish the seat is a little sofer. Anyway, it is a good value for I bought this big car EX-L for $28700. The tailgate window can not be OPEN!

  • Great SUV - 2004 Honda Pilot

the vehicle is great, excellent for large families and for carpools for the kids football team and cheerleading team. The SUV is lots of fun to drive and love the fold away rear seats.

  • Ideal SUV - 2004 Honda Pilot

Test drive many mid-size SUVs but none can match its roomy interior. Great SUV for golf equipment which was my main reason for selecting this model. Best value for the price.

  • Great Vehicle / Great Value - 2004 Honda Pilot

This by far is the best SUV in its class. The second that i drove it i fell in love. It has more than enough room and power.

  • Honda Pilot EX n/leather - 2004 Honda Pilot

This cars handling with the widetrack and AWD has been good in wet and dry highway conditions. The widetrack has to be accomodated when garaging, its wider than the Honda Accord 4 Dr. SE I had. The acceleration is quick with a pleasant exhaust sound as it goes through the gears. It easily passes on hte mountain passes going to and leaving Las Vegas Valley. There is power to spare while passing at 80 mph on I-15. I like the higher sitting possition over the Accord 4 Dr. SE.
