  • Not what I Expected - 2004 Honda Pilot

The Honda we thought would be the dream car, but had second thoughts after comparing my sisters SUV the Mitsubishi Endeavor. That looks a lot better and drives better. Its more exciting and better looking.

  • I like it a lot. - 2004 Honda Pilot

Ive owned it since January 2003. I purchased it when I found out I was pregnant with my first child. It is very comfortable in traveling with people and children. I test drove every SUV in its class and this one was the roomiest. I recommend it.

  • plastic honda - 2004 Honda Pilot
    By -

you never know about a vehicle until you wash it. the plastic in a tide bottle seems of a better quailty than the product on the front of our honda.before you buy look under the front the plastic under the engine doesnt completly extend all the way across leaving two small holes on either side. honda wouldnt admit it seemed to be a error. sloppy for a honda. they have learned how to make less look like more.

  • Honda Sucks - 2004 Honda Pilot
    By -

I took the truck to different dealers to diagnoses a hesitation in the transmission. All they did was to upgrade the computer system. After insisting that the symptom was not but a product of my imagination, the recall came trough. The second gear was burn and the transaxle was not engaging anymore. The car has a lot of push with 245hp. However the pulling is barely getting by without hurting the 4 wheel system and a $5000 out of my pocket. I am fighting Honda for the warranty that just pass the 1000 over. Buyer beware, Honda is great for cars and light vehicles. Please do not try their trucks and expected them to pull like an American.

  • Worth every $$$. Want to save 10K? - 2004 Honda Pilot
    By -

I just saved nearly $10K by going for Pilot instead of MDX. Be smart and do the same! Only thing I miss is that loaner car service!! Enough about this... Things about Pilot - good design, handling. Lot of interior space.

  • Not Great, just Good - 2004 Honda Pilot
    By -

Dont get me wrong, the Pilot is an excellent vehicle. This is my 6th Honda product and could be the best to date. At the top of the list of attributes is value. You get more for your money and you know its a reliable vehicle. When I place the key in the ignition it will start. Sounds simple, but that doesnt happen with all vehicles. I owned a Ford before and it left me stranded on more than one occasion. We added an aftermarket hitch and hauled a trailer with no problem. The plastics are a little hard and the leather isnt the softest, but still a very good grade on the interior. A big minus is gas mileage and style. Im considering the GMC Arcadia, but I love Honda value.

  • Love our new Pilot - 2004 Honda Pilot
    By -

We just bought our new Honda Pilot this past weekend and could not be happier with it. We went planning to test drive both the Pilot and a Toyota Highlander since we have a growing family, but given the interior specs between the two, there was no contest. And once we drove the Pilot, we knew we would just be wasting our time by looking at the Highlander. Great interior room, classy but functional interior and exterior, easy handling in traffic and while parking.

  • Wife loves it - 2004 Honda Pilot
    By -

We bought the Pilot for my wife. We traded her 00 Chevy Venture (it was falling apart). I had my wife drive several mid-sized SUVs with a third row. She loved the Pilot (that was my hope). Weve had the Pilot for a month now and my wifes very happy. Only things we miss over the venture are the rear audio for our 3 yr old, and the built in compressor the venture had (very handy). The solid feel, expected quality, and 4wd should more then make up for these missing features. Its also worth noting that, with the exception of a sunroof and memory for the seats, the Pilot is is just as nice as my 03 Acura CL-S.

  • Not your typical Honda - 2004 Honda Pilot
    By -

Had to replace the rear struts/shock in the first 6,000 miles (they were leaking?). Well designed interior but try wiping clean with a damp cloth. Paint wiped off from the center console (cup holder) and door handles. Good service from dealer. Front seats are uncomfortable. Good pick-up and did well in Northeast snow storms.

Hard to find a good deal.
