  • BMW X5 eat your heart out! - 2003 Honda Pilot

Its all been said in the other reviews, this vehicle is an absolute gem. Having driven many SUVS and spent much time in various BMW X5s recently, without a shadow of doubt the Pilots powertrain puts BMWs offerings to shame. Their trannies are crude and clunky and the 3.0 is gutless by comparison.

  • Getting to like it - 2003 Honda Pilot

Purchased the vehicle over the phone after calling 5 dealerships and getting the price on an EX-L down $2200. We are paying $398 a month for a 36 months lease-12k miles a year. We put down $1598. The buyout at the end of the lease is $18,200. Very happy so far with the vehicle. Its our 5th Honda. Never any problems. I have a 98 F150 pickup and use it for work. Piece of American crap. Would never consider an Explorer for the family.

  • I love my Pilot - 2003 Honda Pilot

I traded in my 850 Volvo Wagon for the Pilot - I cant believe how much more I enjoy the car. The space is great! All three kids can bring a friend and watch a movie while I can listen to whatever I want. It has 32k miles and not a single proble! Great Car!

  • 50K and still good - 2003 Honda Pilot

Having just re-read the long term test for the 2003 Pilot I wanted to relate my long term opinion. First, the Pilot was the family choice over a mini-van. It is used 60/40 for city/highway driving. It has been extremely reliable everyday. It hauls 4 to 6 teens daily with backpacks, music instruments, ect. Bikes, sleds, and two retrievers on selected weekends. In other words this is the perfect urban/suburban vehicle. If you are researching the Pilot please read the long term test and youll find that the 2005 Pilot corrects all of the negatives in the article. Coming out of the third northern Ohio winter with my 2003 Pilot, I wouldnt want any other SUV.

  • Disappointed in my 5th Honda - 2003 Honda Pilot

This is my 5th honda and it will likelybe my last! The quality has steadily declined. The leather seats sag and Honda is unconcerned! The interior plastic the use is so easily dented that the seat belt retractor has dented the door post repeatedly. There are numerous raddles and ticking noises. The gas mileage is around 16MPG which is below expectations. I think the changes the name on the old Honda quality to Acura and they dont care about their original brand!

  • Fine SUV - 2003 Honda Pilot

Overall the Honda Pilot sure beats the 2000 Toyata SR% I traded in for it. Seating is excellant for tall drivers and the visibility is outstanding. Fast, smooth and handles great at Interstate speeds with pleanty of reserve for passing. Miliage is consistantly 20 aroound town and 23-25 on the Interstates. Very stable in high winds. Outstanding for the price.

I love this SUV. I purchased mine in August 2002 at MSRP. I enjoy its stability and comfort couplled with the great room it has. I havent had any problem with so far and I dont intend to. Guys, if you are really shopping for an SUV, try this one and you wont regret it.

  • Great First Family Car!! - 2003 Honda Pilot
    By -

It is true what everyone is saying as to the difficulty of getting the exact one you want. There isnt much room for dealing on the sticker price, though I did get a great deal on mine. After comparing the Pilot with the Toyota Highlander, I instantly preferred the smooth and powerful ride of the Pilot. The interior feels VERY roomy, though the backseats are a bit tight. I dont think we could have gotten a better first family car. I am VERY happy with the Pilot and certainly plan on keeping this for a long time. We have been Toyota consumers for many years, but the Pilot has certainly won us over and made us first-time Honda drivers.

  • The Wait was Worth It! - 2003 Honda Pilot

Always wanted a Pilot but was unwilling to pay going price...finally got used one with trade of CRV. Rides high and big like a truck which gives me an added sense of safety/security on these narrow mountain roads. Love the ride and handling. Storage compartments are very functional. Drivers seat with lumbar knob makes for VERY comfortable ride.

  • Pilot rocks after 12,00 miles - 2003 Honda Pilot

Hey there, Have had the Pilot since June 8th. Have about 12,000 miles on mine now and have driven it over 200 miles on dirt roads.. Performs quite well... Drove 56 miles of of washboard roads in Death Valley drove quite nicely.. ALong with some sandy roads... Plenty of leg room for me being 61" tall.. Also, can sleep in the back when out camping if to lazy to setup a tent...Has pelnty of power and interior deesign works with all controls laid out...
