Overview & Reviews
Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.
Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

Best SUV EVER - 2003 Honda Pilot
By Hoghead85 - December 22 - 10:00 amI was going to buy an Acura MDX until I drove the Honda Pilot. You get almost everything an MDX has for thousands less. The ride is wonderful and it looks great. Im sure this SUV will take over once people start seeing it on the roads. Better put in your order now.

Honda Pilot Ownership - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Roberta Napoli - December 22 - 9:30 amThe design and features are excellent. There is quite a bit of room for cargo when the seats are down. However, it would be better if it came with an option for a sunroof.

Disappointed - 2017 Honda Pilot
By Jeanne Dodge - December 21 - 9:03 pmIt doesnt feel like an SUV. Its like a car combined with a mini van. Loose steering, slow draggie start up, sits lower so not able to treat like SUV. Lower interior limits hauling anything large. Seller was very limited on the knowledge of the vehicle and, until I received the owners manual, I didnt realize the limitations on the stereo/interface system that doesnt meet my needs. Irresponsible information from the seller caused ordering of wrong equipment. Overall disappointed with this vehicle and wish I had looked elsewhere. Nothing great about this car for the money spent.

Montana Pilot - 2004 Honda Pilot
By Montana Pilot - December 18 - 10:00 amThe vehicle is very comfortable. Has great visibility from the inside. Very roomy. Can haul a lot. Good acceleration. Intruments are well laid out except for Trip A/Trip B/Outside Temp button which is hard to get to. Gas mileage much better than the Toyota 4Runner I had. Turning radius still surprises me with how tight it is. Very stable. Id buy it again.

Great SUV to drive - 2010 Honda Pilot
By Honda_pilot_owner - December 17 - 2:16 pmAfter a lot of research narrowed it down to Highlander and Pilot. Test drove each 2 times and concluded that Highlander is actually a 4 seater with lots of cargo space and in that case my present Camry was already doing that job. So we went for Pilot knowing that it is a gas hungry vehicle compared to highlander or other SUVs of similar class. Chose 4x2 as I dont do much of activities demanding 4x4. Ride is smooth much like an SUV/Truck than a car which I felt in highlander.

Big in a Small Package - 2005 Honda Pilot
By CJ - December 17 - 8:10 amThis SUV is surprisingly roomy and seats eight quite comfortably (since second row is adjustable) for rides up to 100 miles or so. Its length is less than an Accord or Camry, yet it has the room of many larger SUVs. Gas mileage on the road is averaging 23 MPG, if you keep it at 65 mph.
