  • Why PILOT - 2003 Honda Pilot

An SUV V6 size surprising roomy, smart design between the driver/passenger seats. The engine is exceptionally smooth and quiet. Stereo quality that one can only expect in a more expensive vehicle. Starts as 4 wheels, changes to 2 wheels when cruising, auto-switchs back to 4 wheels in sleepery surface. The Pilot is heavier--> stable than, let say the Highlander, and a bigger engine, but uses only 1 mile more per gallon. The rear does not shake when cruising like the Highlander. Share most with the ACURA MDX, with minor differences, with .4 higher, more head room... for 10K less than the MDX.

  • Break problems abound - 2003 Honda Pilot

Have had to have the disk brakes turned twice - first time at 15000 second at 29000. Honda claims it is environmental problems... disk brakes heat up and warp around 12-13000 miles each time. Other than that one of the best vehicles Ive ever owned. Have been advised I will have to replace the rotars (drums) by the time I reach 50000 miles. Thats a real problem and will probably drive me to another vehicle. Have two friends who have the same problem with brakes on their pilots as well here in El Paso.

  • perfect size suv - 2003 Honda Pilot

The Pilot handles great and is spacious. It is a smooth vehicle that accelerates nicely. Perfect for long drives with the kids and carrying extra luggage via thule box. Paid $29K. Youd figure if youd pay this much, leather would be included. However, the cloth seats are right for multiple seasons.

  • Almost perfection... - 2003 Honda Pilot

The Pilot handles the road beautifully. It is easily the best driving SUV Ive ever owned. The design of the car creates enormous interior space in a mid-size body. DVD/ Entertainment system is a god send on long drives with small children or with adults who act like small children. Engine is smooth and quiet while providing enough horsepower to easily accelerate at a speed that speeding tickets can become a problem.

  • Best Suv out There - 2003 Honda Pilot

I bought my Pilot in October of 2002 and have driven it over 43,000 miles as of July, 2004. I have not one complaint about this SUV whatsoever. It is extremely comfortable, even on long trips. The fit & finish is impeccable, there is plenty of room in the cabin, not to mention the generous storage compartments! The console is amazing with the cell phone holder, etc... I test drove the Explorer, The Mountaineer and The Jeep Grand Cherokee (The Cherokee was like driving a dump truck), None compared to the overall value & ride the Honda Pilot served up. I was hooked as soon as I got behind the wheel and started my test drive.

  • It;s a Honda. - 2003 Honda Pilot

I bought this Honda several weeks ago after looking at all the options. The only other SUV I considered was an Acura MDX. Too early to tell how reliable this vehicle will be but I like the interior design and materials (my dad has an Accord with 300,000 miles). Ergonometrics are excellent. Ride is great and the engine allows me to cruise as fast as I like effortlessly. It is so practical that it could be construed as boring but everything works so smoothly.

  • If you dont have one, get one!!!!!! - 2003 Honda Pilot

We just bought a PILOT EX-L and we love it. We looked a the ACURA MDX, and it was the same SUV with a different body design that cost $6,000 more than the PILOT. We looked at the LEXUS LX450 and we were disappointed with the size. The PILOT is absolutely the best SUV in its class. I Love the body design, the interior and the performance. Take it from me, this SUV moves!!! I also love the room inside, it doesnt look bulky, like some of its competitors. Dont judge it until you test drive it. I test drove the majority of SUVs that are out there and the PILOT takes the cake. But the only way to find out is if you buy one!!!

Its a Honda. It does everything that any other SUV can do, except it does it perfectly. The build quality is exceptional. Its roomy and quiet. Its fun to drive and the stadium type seating in the 2nd and 3rd rows are a bonus. OK, complaints (if you can call them that). The second bench should have an adjustable forward and rear travel. Gas mileage is probably slightly better than most of the other V6/V8 SUVs out on the market today. As for paying MSRP, well, I paid MSRP but haggled about 50% off on my options. Its a Honda. The price is worth it. Dont pass this up on your list of SUV choices...matter of fact, make it the only choice.

  • Best Car - 2003 Honda Pilot

This SUV is probably one of the best out their! When I was looking to buy, I was looking at the BMW X5, the Ford Expedition, and the Pilot was no comparasent. It seats 8! Thats incredible, even though the 3rd row doesnt have much leg room, its good cargo space. A great buy! You should get it!

  • Review after couple of long trips - 2003 Honda Pilot

Had my Pilot for about 2 months and 4000 miles. Good ride, lots of room and good performance. Fuel economy has been good, about 18-19 mpg during drive to work and with bikes and cargo carrier attached, about 20 on long trips without extra stuff (not sure what other people expect from a 4400 lb SUV, better than I ever got with my Jeep). Good power and acceleration. Not flashy but good looking vehicle. Got fog lights, running boards, towing package, cross bars and rear mud flaps added and paid about $1200 over MSRP (about $2200 worth of extras).
