Overview & Reviews
The 2005 Honda Pilot receives a new 255-hp engine, along with numerous functional changes. A tire-pressure monitoring system has been added, and EX models with leather get vehicle stability control. Slightly increased fuel capacity helps extend driving range, and a revised power steering pump provides improved on-center steering feel. Inside the cabin, the instrument panel has been tweaked with ambient lighting and a six-disc CD changer for all EX trims. A driver footrest has been added, and leather-upholstered EX models can now be had with a sunroof. The LX now has standard keyless entry, and all models get an integrated remote key and fob. Honda has made slight frame changes this year that resulted in improved IIHS crash test ratings.
- Roomy interior with eight-passenger seating, versatile storage and cargo-hauling abilities, many standard features, comfortable ride, smooth power delivery.
- Mediocre towing capacity, side curtain airbags not available, feels big behind the wheel.

very satisfied customer - 2005 Honda Pilot
By annie - April 22 - 11:53 amI have no complaints about this vehicle, I recently went on a long distance vacation (2,000 miles), and got 25 miles per gallon on the highway using the cruise control. My two teenage children went with me and were quite comfortable in the vehicle.

Honda pilot overall great suv - 2005 Honda Pilot
By ROBERT ADAMS - April 18 - 5:13 pmOverall wonderful vehicle. Best car ever driven on ice and snow. Please note i work for a jeep dodge dealership and own multiple 4x4 vehicles other than the honda. Would like some additional features like rolling door locks andauto unlock feature when key is removed from ignition. Was rearended by a furniture truck 2 weeks ago. The truck bumper hit the main reinforcement on the rear bumper. $241 Damage to the pilot and smashed in the front steel bumper of the truck 2-3 inches. This vehicle is built like a tank. I plan to replace this pilot with another. Ps- this is my second pilot in 3 years.

Solid performance great comfort - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Eric - April 14 - 7:13 pmDrove up mt hood with excellent performance. I encountered sleet / ice roads and snowed filled roads. With my all seasons tires that came standard with the Pilot I experienced no slippage, excellent handling and felt very safe. Two thumbs way up!

Impressed - 2005 Honda Pilot
By m stewart - April 13 - 12:40 amMy 05 Pilot continues to put a smile on my face. I am a Honda loyalist--this is my 5th. I traded my 03 Accord EX and have no regrets. While my Accord always seemed overly soft and loose in the curves, my Pilot rides and drives like an absolute dream. I love the handling and the ride continues to amaze me--very supple for an SUV and is light years ahead of the competition. Passengers are constantly commenting on the quietness and the smooth ride. If you are considering a midsize SUV, do yourself a favor and check out the Pilot.

Handles Like a 4WD Civic - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Anthony - April 11 - 3:55 amI have a 2009 Honda Civic Coupe as a summer driver, and going from that to this is not very hard given how small the Pilot handles for its size. It takes curves like a much smaller car, and has more than enough kick to remind you that youre piloting a V6, instead of the four-banger in the Civic. Definitely recommend this car for anyone looking for an older (but still stylish and functional) SUV. To heck with Ford and Chevy.

Love My Honda - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Alysha Turner - April 6 - 5:25 amHonda pilot is a great and relaible car but is not good with gas at all. This thing goes through gas like its free. A full tank only last 2 days and thats just pick up and drop off at school. Horrible gas mileage.

bulletproof - 2005 Honda Pilot
By cally - March 31 - 9:46 pmDid my homework and finally went with the pilot. The motor in this car is nothing short of amazing. Pulls a 4400 pound vehicle with amazing grace and manages 20 miles to the gallon. Does not have all the bells and whistles some of the competion does but with the dependebility and high resale I am thrilled to be a first time honda owner.
