This Year's Model Updates:

The 2005 Honda Pilot receives a new 255-hp engine, along with numerous functional changes. A tire-pressure monitoring system has been added, and EX models with leather get vehicle stability control. Slightly increased fuel capacity helps extend driving range, and a revised power steering pump provides improved on-center steering feel. Inside the cabin, the instrument panel has been tweaked with ambient lighting and a six-disc CD changer for all EX trims. A driver footrest has been added, and leather-upholstered EX models can now be had with a sunroof. The LX now has standard keyless entry, and all models get an integrated remote key and fob. Honda has made slight frame changes this year that resulted in improved IIHS crash test ratings.

Pros:
  • Roomy interior with eight-passenger seating, versatile storage and cargo-hauling abilities, many standard features, comfortable ride, smooth power delivery.
Cons:
  • Mediocre towing capacity, side curtain airbags not available, feels big behind the wheel.

  • Excellent Value - 2005 Honda Pilot

Great riding truck, I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee prior and it had a lousy ride. The Pilot styling is plain looking, it could use some more chrome like the MDX chrome door handles and chrome running boards. The Pilot really shines with interior space. I have two kids and the extra room is great. I know Honda will continue improving this competitor envy SUV.

  • Outstanding Dealer - 2005 Honda Pilot

Absolutely the best dealer experience ever! Job done right, vehicle cleaned, very timely on the repairs/service for routine maintenance, very friendly from the guy who drives it to wash the car, to the service managers, to the salesman. Id buy another in a heart-beat!

  • 1st New Vehicle - 2005 Honda Pilot

We bought our Pilot EX w/leather, DVD in June 05 and immediately took it on a 5000 mile trip back East. Having the DVD kept 4 kids completely quiet. The Pilots shifting is unnoticeable. I saw the RPMs drop, but the vehicle did not jump when shifting. The passing power is perfect even in the mountains of Utah. The 2nd and 3rd rows recline slightly so passengers arent sitting straight up the entire trip. The 2nd row is able of adjust forward approximately 6" much like front seats allowing even more legroom for the 3rd row. I sit in the 3rd row and am quite comfortable being 58". I researched SUVs for 6 months and this beat the Highlander hands down. Im so happy with the Pilot

  • Honda Pilot Experience - 2005 Honda Pilot

I have owned the vehicle for 5 months and have driven 3300 miles. The vehicle is very well designed, particularly the interior, which can haul much cargo or many people. The third seat can handle two adults, but three would be quite uncomfortable. The ride is excellent, with a good mix between cushy and firm. My biggest complaint is that the vehicle only gets 15 MPG around town and barely 20 on the Interstate, not the 17 and 23 advertised. At least it does run well on regular fuel, which saves 10% of cost. The vehicle does have some strange clunking sounds on occasions, and the dashboard creaks and rattles at times. Overall, I would rate it 8.5 on a scale of 10.

  • I love my Pilot - 2005 Honda Pilot

My last 2 cars were hondas, a civic and most recently a CRV. I Loved both vehicles and decided to upgrade to the Pilot. Not only do I consider my comfort but I have one large dog and a medium size dog that travel with me everyday and they are every bit as happy as I am.

Best vehicle I have ever owned. Plenty of power with good fuel economy. The 4 WD makes me feel safe in rough weather.

Just bought this a couple weeks ago, but we absolutely love it. Good interior room, plenty of power, very comfortable and very quiet. Too many good features to list. The fit and finish is very good. The more I drive it the more I like it.

  • Excellent choice for large families!!! - 2005 Honda Pilot

After recent snow and a steep driveway I realized I need something more powerful. I fell in love with the Pilot and its perfect. It also holds all 3 of my kids (2 in carseats) extremely well. We are now even trying for our 4th since we have plenty of room for one!! I highly recommend this SUV for anyone who needs a reliable car in snow and space for kids.

I love love love my pie in the sky. But everytime I try to put it in gear I accidentally turn on the wipers because their so close and similiar. Also I would love to see Honda sell some beautilful colors in their car line. Im use to american muscle cars and love the brighter and hotter colors.
