Overview & Reviews
The 2005 Honda Pilot receives a new 255-hp engine, along with numerous functional changes. A tire-pressure monitoring system has been added, and EX models with leather get vehicle stability control. Slightly increased fuel capacity helps extend driving range, and a revised power steering pump provides improved on-center steering feel. Inside the cabin, the instrument panel has been tweaked with ambient lighting and a six-disc CD changer for all EX trims. A driver footrest has been added, and leather-upholstered EX models can now be had with a sunroof. The LX now has standard keyless entry, and all models get an integrated remote key and fob. Honda has made slight frame changes this year that resulted in improved IIHS crash test ratings.
- Roomy interior with eight-passenger seating, versatile storage and cargo-hauling abilities, many standard features, comfortable ride, smooth power delivery.
- Mediocre towing capacity, side curtain airbags not available, feels big behind the wheel.

Happy honda owner - 2005 Honda Pilot
By hganurs - July 19 - 4:13 pmThis is our first honda and after test driving the highlander and then the pilot, we were sold on the pilot. Much more comfortable and a smoother ride. My husband was not excited about an SUV, but found comfort with the government safety rating .

Perfection - 2005 Honda Pilot
By DAWGFAN - July 2 - 10:00 amI researched every SUV out there for the better part of 2 years, nothing compares to the Pilot. We waited until 05 for the factory sunroof and it was worth the wait. Excellent rig, highly recommend it.

Michael S Pilot Review - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Michael S - June 16 - 12:36 amReally like how the various controls are in good reach and seem easy to run. Roomy and well made, I like the little additions that make it comfortable. Only drawback seems to be space around the drivers seat...you lose something down the sides and its almost impossible to retreive.

Honda Pilot - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Tyler Greffin - June 11 - 5:03 amLooking forward to another one when my lease is up. The only thing which may change my opinion is Hondas low factory warranty. I may take a look at the new Hummer H3 for kicks, but Honda has my business.

A good mid-size SUV - 2005 Honda Pilot
By tws - June 8 - 5:26 amHave owned the vehicle for 2 months. Overall, a very good value in terms of form, function, and economy. Have had no problems pulling 4300 lb. boat & trailer although I would not tow a heavy load over mountains.

Great Car for the Price - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Michelle - June 6 - 4:33 pmI purchased this vehicle under the asking price so I got a great deal. I love this vehicle. I do not miss anything by getting the LX model. The base model for the Pilot has everything I need and want in a car. We test drove other SUVs but nothing compares to this for the price and for all the standard options.

Passing the test - 2005 Honda Pilot
By joyce - May 22 - 7:53 pmMade a 4000 mile trip to Nova Scotia this summer pulling a camper with no problems at all. Didnt even feel much drag going up the hills. Love the car and the room for kids. Dont have the DVD but a lap-top works just as well in the back seat. Gas mileage wasnt bad considering the load and supplies. Cheaper tow package would sure be nice (about $1000.-ouch!). Dealer said transmission, etc. may not be covered if it wasnt a Honda installed item. Car handles great. Just a few minor complaints that I can live with.

Family Vehicle for Everything - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Evan - May 21 - 1:30 amThis is an excellent choice for families on the go that often take children on long trips. The seats are comfortable, the visibility is great, and the power/ fuel economy trade-off is just about right. May feel a bit clumsy at high speeds, but its always secure ride. It is annoying that you have to get leather to get most of the extras (sunroof, Vehicle Stability Assist) but the value is definitely still there. The third row is far more liveable in Pilot than the Toyota Highlander.
