Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

Pilot is everything that was and is advertised. Great family vehicle that pleases everyone in the family. Wife loves driving it. For this size vehicle gas mileage is very good, have experienced 19 - 21 with mostly highway driving. First time Honda customer, can see the quality of their products. Definately will buy Honda again.

  • C/SUV value buy of the decade perhaps? - 2009 Honda Pilot

Thought I would contribute a review to try to assist others with the agonizing decision I made - one that I am very happy I made: to go with a 2009 Honda Pilot 4wd Touring over the Highlander, Xterra and Pathfinder, and CX-9. Many object to the looks of the Pilot - we like it lot; looks like a real SUV. This vehicle is the clear choice for those looking for the utmost utility, safety, modern conveniences, and medium- duty off-road capability (yes, that is what the Pilots chassis, unibody structural integrity, and suspension are designed for), reasonable fuel efficiency, and highly functional (hopefully reliable) 4WD system. Pilot=best value/content going for the $$$ - mighty beefy S/CUV!

  • A Great Midsize SUV! - 2003 Honda Pilot

The Pilot is so quiet it is hard to know it is running. At highway speeds, the car is smooth, quiet and stable. It gives a car like ride while still being able to hit a pothole and not worry. The brakes are great, and the transmission shifts flawlessly. I have no regrets after purchase. The sound system is impressive. The fuel economy is not great, but better than the competition. Overal, this is a great SUV that beats the competition. The price is nice, but we could not bargain with the dealer, they arent giving these Pilots away for anything less than the sticker!

  • I love my Pilot - 2006 Honda Pilot

The vehicle is quite comfortable and has plenty of room. The fit and finish are high quality but a little plain. The fuel mileage is similar to the EPA numbers and reasonable for a car of this size.
