Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  • I love to drive this car! - 2007 Honda Pilot

I enjoy the looks of this car and the beauty of the ride. Mileage isnt that great but this is an SUV and the engine has some spunk. The only big complaint is the size of the key. Its BIG. Couldnt they have built it to fold in a case.

  • Pilot is a Good Choice - 2004 Honda Pilot

Have had our Pilot for over a year and a half now and are very happy with it. Traded in a 97 Blazer w/o 4-wheel drive, which was scary to drive in the snow with, not to mention the teeth- chattering ride and consistent steering/suspension problems. In the Pilot, we feel 100% safer now. Very few problems. Excellent Honda quality. Very sure-footed, smooth transmision, lots of power and storage space and most of all, quiet smooth ride.

  • Boring but useful - 2004 Honda Pilot

Boring and cheap instrument panel design, but great interior design in term of usability. I wish the seat is a little sofer. Anyway, it is a good value for I bought this big car EX-L for $28700. The tailgate window can not be OPEN!

the vehicle is great, excellent for large families and for carpools for the kids football team and cheerleading team. The SUV is lots of fun to drive and love the fold away rear seats.

  • Ideal SUV - 2004 Honda Pilot

Test drive many mid-size SUVs but none can match its roomy interior. Great SUV for golf equipment which was my main reason for selecting this model. Best value for the price.

  • From Tahoe to Pilot - 2016 Honda Pilot
    By -

After seven months of driving I am very pleased with our decision to purchase a 2016 Pilot. After two Tahoes I found the price point excessive and so began to shop. Initially the redesign of the Pilot appealed to us so we signed up for a test ride, and we were sold. This vehicle is economical to operate, comfortable and offers a very well designed cabin that is more than adequate for two seniors who like to travel and have many grandkids. We have the EX-L model which is responsive on acceleration, and braking, easy on gas and a comfortable ride. My one disappointment is the lack of a CD player, although I managed to import my music on to a thumb drive. Its not the same but works for me. A lot of thought has been given to the interior layout , which is positive and rear passengers remark how comfortable the back seats are vs. our previous Tahoes which were not. We own a Toyota Solara, Subaru Outback and the Pilot. You really cant go wrong with any of these cars but so far the Toyota and the Honda Pilot are the most economical to maintain. Yes, I would recommend a Pilot for a young family, older folks like us who desire some elbow room and a great travel vehicle. We haul Kayaks on top. Folks seem to complain about the more expensive Pilot models and their transmissions, we have no complaints at 7K miles.

  • Pilot Is Great - 2006 Honda Pilot

Love the Pilot. Researched like crazy and this one just came coming up. Do not regret it for one minute. The Nav system is great - definitely recommend it. The voice recognition can be eccentric and take some getting used to. It took me over a week to figure it how to delete items in the address book. Go to the Nav system Web help by way of the Honda page. The Accord NAV system has trip info - a standard in what is a higher end car. Honda should include it here as well. The Gear shift column is in a cumbersome area. Every once in a while I turn the wipers on. I had read this in reviews so no surprise. Gas mileage is about 15-16 mostly city; expected 17-18 with the 2WD model.
