Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

I felt regret and disappointed to get this pilot.I just got for a week and found out the defect. The body connected with a piece of plastic every joint is getting loose.I am wondering how a $40,000 pilot looks like a toy?

Love my new Pilot. Very comfortable interior and ride. Better gas mileage than advertised. PLENTY of room for cargo. 3rd row reasonable for average adult, great for kids. Do have the sunroof issue periodically, awaiting the permanent fix from Honda.

  • 2011 Pilot Sunroof Problems - 2011 Honda Pilot

2011 Honda Pilots have sunroof problems for which Honda does not have a fix. Purchased mine a month and a half ago, and they still cant fix it! Im getting very frustrated, because its a known issue according to the dealership. Honda supposedly issued a "fix", which was to "reset" the sunroof, but this didnt work so they recanted the fix. Honda, Ive been a lifelong customer, but Im getting frustrated that I cant use the sunroof I paid $1.5K+for! Fix this soon or lose a customer and all of my referrals. Other than the sunroof, a very good car. Braking distance is a bit too long for me.

I bought my 2003 Honda Pilot as brand new, since now it still runs like a brand new car. It has not problem what so ever. Everything is still original except the tires and brake pads. This car is the most dependable and reliable car I have ever seen.

  • High Quality SUV - 2005 Honda Pilot

I am the 2nd owner of this 2005 EX-L with built in navigation and entertainment system. Got it 2 yrs. ago as I wanted an SUV with excellent visibility and reliability. Honda has not disappointed me as vehicle has both. Only maintenance has been oil changes. I now need new tires at 63k miles-not bad! Gas mileage is not great-I average 18 MPG combined but this is a 6 cyl. so gas mileage is not going to be fantastic. I was thinking of downsizing to get better gas mileage. I looked at many other SUVs and none compared with the Pilot. I dont want to sacrifice comfort and space so I am keeping it. Excellent headroom, spacious interior. Rear a/c great for my dogs! Handles great in snow.

This vehicle has been with us for more than a year now and we are just completely satisfied with it. We drove it to the central and eastern US, never had a problem with it. Its so comfortable and has a lot of room (we have 2 boys and a ton of toys). The pilot is solidly built and make us feel really secure. It is fun to drive and I feel like I am always in control.

  • Lovin my 2011 Pilot - 2011 Honda Pilot

I bought my 2011 Pilot in April 2010. Gas mileage is not that great yet but I love the vehicle. Roomy for the whole family inside, sleek and stylish on the outside. I like its "get-up- and-go" on take-off and very fun to drive!

  • Cant Believe I Bought a Honda - 2011 Honda Pilot

I love my Mercedes. When I convinced my wife to lease a ml350, I thought she would love it. I was wrong. She ended up buying the pilot touring edition last month. We now fight over driving it. While the fuel mileage is extremely disappointing, we just came back from a trip and got almost 22 mpg. Not great, but better than expected. The entire family loves taking this car on trips. The technology (bluetooth, nav, rear entertainment) is far Superior to my 2010 Mercedes e-class and her ml. The entire build quality rivals the other cars we looked at including those priced well above the Honda. This is a great SUV at a price that wont squeeze your wallet.

  • Very Happy owner of my pilot - 2006 Honda Pilot
    By -

I wrote a review about my Honda Pilot last year of May, and wanted to write another review again because I am still very happy with my vehicle. When I brought it the odo was reading 44,500 miles on it, and now its has 69,500 miles and its been a great vehicle with no problems nothing. Took the trip to Colorado from Texas and I was getting 26 to 29 mpg on the Highway. In town still getting 19 to 22 mpg with a little highway mix in. The best mpg was 32 and its only happened once and the road was flat and getting tail wind coming home from Florida so it was almost 650 miles on a tank. I change the oil every 4 to 5000 miles and change the transmission fluids twice. I am planning to keep it long.

  • Solid SUV - 2004 Honda Pilot
    By -

I have owned this SUV for six and a half years. The car is very reliable. Besides the normal maintenance (oil, brakes, batter), the car has needed new rear shocks ($450 at 66K miles) and two new engine mounts ($650 at 68K miles). The shocks were blown because we overloaded the car on a long trip, but the engine mounts are a common problem for Odysseys and Pilots. We love the car because it is powerful and does the job.
