Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

This new vehicle is so exciting to drive and to ride in. Comfort and safety are hallmarks. One feels so secure in traveling in this truck. Being a truck, one feels confident to be able to haul heavy without loosing control due to overweight. I could not have purchased a better vehicle.

Well re-designed. Like the taillights and the front a lot better than the previous Pilots. The interior is "hugely" improved and conveniently layed out. Nice design overall and a fun/stable ride.

  • WOW - 2009 Honda Pilot

I have owned every Honda model made, and most Acura products as well. I have never owned a Acura MDX but have test driven them many times. I have purchased my first PILOT and WOW I am very impressed. This vehicle is extremely smooth, plenty of power and great fuel economy for the size of this SUV. When I first looked at the PILOT I was very hesitant about the looks of the vehicle, just drive it, and see what you are getting for the money. The Touring Pilot has one of the best Stereo systems I have ever listened to, 512 watts of power and great sound. As good as the Acura ELS.

  • Test Drive... the Radio - Dont purchase 16 Pilot - 2016 Honda Pilot

Gripe review. This $40K vehicle is not what the quality or integrity I thought I was getting. I have only purchased Hondas for the past 25 years and am sad to say this is my last. Everything about the car was what we expected except that we never used the radio when we test drove it. Once we literally pulled it off the lot and started to listen to the FM stereo we noticed it had an issue. The sound quality was poor. Its volume would go up and down on its own and sounded muffled. I brought it to dealer and make the long story short its a known defect with my dealer and AHC. BTW - currently there is NO FIX and no ETA. For more details see the following link from Piloteers: http://www.piloteers.org/forums/114-2016-third-generation-pilot/83922-fm-radio-sound-quality-problem.html Heres my question that Honda cannot answer. If this vehicle has all these safety features (Sensing) how can I trust that it even works when I need it when they cant make a basic FM radio?

  • glad I switched - 2003 Honda Pilot

Ive had 3 Ford Explorers, but never felt safe in the rain, esp. the last one.The Pilot sat down onto the road better, drove it in the rain and it really hugged the highway, so bought it immediately.AWD is responsive to road condtions.Good brakes in an emergency without the shudder like some other cars. Roomy feel of larger interior, even for 6"4" husband. Gas milage is 19.5/18.5. Solid doors, easy to use back hatch door.Easy fold seats in back 2 rows. Comfortable 2nd row seating, even for adults on long trips.

  • The White Honda - 2004 Honda Pilot

I was not in the market for a new car since all I have purchase for many years were good used cars or trucks. I went to visit my daughter and son inlaw in VA this past summer. They were interested in a Honda 2000. They dumped me at the lot while they went out riding around. I had been looking at a Toyato Rav, so I checked out the Honda CRV. Then to my suprise I found the pilot. I did a lot of research for the next couple of months and ordered one.

After a years time Im still very happy with my Pilot. It handles so well and has a roomy interior without being cavernous. I feel I can whip around in it -- not like driving a bus or monster SUV. Very smooth ride also. Two people who drove my Pilot bought one.

I love my Pilot. It has the quality, comfort, style and is so much fun and easy to drive. I also like the space. I found while looking the leg room was limited in other SUVs we are a tall family and sitting in the back is no problem.
