  • Solid family vehicle, - 2004 Honda Pilot

Great vehicle, and very roomy up front. 17-20 actual gas mileage, or about 315 miles per tank.(At that point I was running on fumes.) Though it is considered an eight seater, it actually seats four adults and four kids comfortably. My wife and I love the way the back seat folds down, in two separate sections. This allows one or two people to set in the third row whenever you fold the other side of the seat down. And unlike some vehicles, these seats fold down flat. The engine has above average power, and the steering is fine. Though we have only owned our Pilot seven months, we are very happy with it.

  • THIS CAR SAVED MY LIFE! - 2004 Honda Pilot

Just this past Monday I was in a terrible car accident that wrecked my beloved Pilot. I WALKED away with injuries sustained only from the seatbealt. I hit a cement median head on at 70 mph and am still here. The safety features of this vehicle cant be beat. Now that I have to get a new car, Im looking for another Pilot. I LOVED it even before the accident.

We bought the Pilot to buffer our 1 year old in 5 star crash rated construction and to haul his gear around. This vehicle is everything its supposed to be - van like capacity that is unparalleled in its class and the look of an SUV on the outside. Drives wonderfully, all the confidence of the size and height visibility and yet flexible maneuvering of a car. The deal was, my wife would get to drive to work and I would drive on weekends. So far, I have to pry the keys out of her hands on the weekends!

The Pilot is a fun suv, excellent ride and can you see, no blind spots go and test drive it.

  • Good SUV But LOts of Little Problems - 2004 Honda Pilot

POSITIVES: Attractive vehicle, both inside and out. Excellent use of interior space for both occupants and cargo. Storage room galore. Very good quality parts and fit/finish. Neat built-in lights in rear grab handles. Great power and smooth transmission. Resale value. NEGATIVES: The 3.5L V6 sometimes doesnt crank up right away (dealer says Honda is aware of this problem with that particular engine, but no fix for it yet). Numerous trim pieces had to be replaced in first 12,000 miles (e.g. the molding containing the drivers seat power switches broke a rear door threshold molding broke the drivers inside door handle started to peel apart) -- not what one expects from a "Honda".

  • Worth the wait - 2004 Honda Pilot

As a first-time SUV buyer, I did alot of research to find the right one. From everything I read, the Honda Pilot was at the top of list, and it remained there after test driving many others. The 2004s were just arriving on the lots when I made my decision, but they were in short supply. It took awhile for mine to finally come in, but it was definitely worth the wait. If youre hesitant on which SUV to purchase, you cant go wrong with the Pilot - you wont be disappointed.

  • This Thing Rocks - 2004 Honda Pilot

I have only had this 2004 Pilot for 4 days. All I have to say is WOW. It drives so nicely and handles really well. I have had an explorer, outback, saturns, etc, and this SUV is by far the best I have had. I went with the DVD system instead of the navigation. I heard to many bad things about the Honda Nav system they put in the pilot. It is njot the same as the Accord nav system. the DVD sounds awesome and my son loves it. GO BYE THIS VEHICLE!!!

Typical Honda qualilty. Best riding SUV I have ever driven (previous SUVs, 1995 Jeep Grand, 1998 Mitsubishi Montero, 1998 ML320, 1999 Jeep Grand). Off-road ability weak compared to my previous but does fine for most dirt roads. Interior is a pleasure. Ride is very smooth. I find the radio controls confusing which is a first for me. Plently of interior cargo room with rear seats folded down. Second row doesnt really fold flat so 4x8 plywood seems to want to slide out the rear door. I wish the rear liftgate glass opened separately but this is common in this class. Overall a great truck and well worth the money.

  • The Best New Pilot - 2004 Honda Pilot

The reliability cannot be beaten because it is a Honda but the exterior styling is extremely bland. The interior provides a very high comfort level and it gets good mileage. The lack of an arm rest in the rear seat takes away some relaxation for passengers back there.
