  • Enjoyable SUV - 2004 Honda Pilot

I have had my Pilot first the get-go. It is fun to drive, seats the kids and dogs and groceries and whatever I pick up during the day. The GPS could be better, more detailed. The MPG is NOT the advertised MPG I get...I get much less. Wish I could have gotten the GPS and the DVD system together...wanted Honda to add DVD on but they said no go.

  • SO FAR SO GOOD - 2004 Honda Pilot

Would make the Honda Pilot a perfect Vehicle if the doors locked automatically when put in to drive

  • Decent, Roomy SUV - 2004 Honda Pilot

I bought the Pilot because I occasionally need the function of a third row seat and I sought AWD for winter driving in the mountains. I looked at Toyotas 04 4Runner with the optional 3rd row seats and Fords Explorer. I almost bought the Toyota but with the difference in interior room and better seating, the Honda seemed a better choice. The Explorer was a different story; I could not find one optioned the way I wanted and none of the dealerships I went to were interested in finding one. I am only into the 2nd week of ownership and so far fairly pleased.

  • Honda rocks - 2004 Honda Pilot

We love this SUV so much, it moves very fast, just like rocket, fun to drive. The 4x4 is very fantastic. I enjoy driving in turbulent off road terrain. It is a wonderful SUV. Will recommend it for every one.

  • 1st AWD a GOOD Experience! - 2004 Honda Pilot
    By -

Our best experience has been the ability to safely go up and down our steep, gravel road to our country home. The road is approxmately one mile long and we used to take our van. We would slip, hit bottom and hope we would make it. The 1st time we took the Pilot, the remark was - - why didnt we get this car a long time ago?

  • 2004 Pilot Great Car - 2004 Honda Pilot

The Pilot for 2004 is an improved version of the 2003 model. The leather seats and outside mirrors are now heated. It is powerful, accelerates and brakes well, and steers easily. The new smart air bags are standard, and it gets a very good safety rating. The navigation system is easy to use. Holds up to 100 personal addresses - use them for destinations; for instance to easily return home after a cross- country trip. The voice prompts are nicely tied into your location and give count downs to a turn. Much better than the portable navigators. My 2004 was discounted $1700 off MSRP!

  • Hard To Beat A Honda - 2004 Honda Pilot

I have had good luck with Hondas in the past and this Pilot did not disappoint. It is a very comfortable car to drive. I drive it in the mountains often and it handles the curves and snow very well. I dont find the road noise to be a problem - it is quieter than my CRV. The gas mileage isnt great - about 18 around town - but I knew that when I purchased it. Not a deal breaker for me. I find the cargo space to be quite adequate for my needs and the heated seats are a definite plus. How about adding a heated steering wheel?

  • A garage salers DREAM VEHICLE! - 2004 Honda Pilot

Weve driven this 5,000 miles so far, and are very pleased with the Pilot. The only problems so far are the uncomfortable headrests, and the fact that the seats dont recline fully as they do in a Dodge Caravan. We bought Honda for its name, though, because weve had good luck with them in the past - our 1991 Honda Accord has 250,000 miles on it and is still going strong!

  • My first three months - 2004 Honda Pilot
    By -

Owned for 3 months, 7600 miles. It replaced a Ford F150 ex.cab 4X4 & a Focus. I drive a lot and use it as a truck for trade shows. It fills all my needs and I enjoy the performance. I thought I would miss the roominess of the F150. This vehicle has plenty of room and feels much more nimble than the F150. A very pleasant replacement for my daily comute (Focus) too. I added factory keyless entry. I have a couple of minor lingering issues. As received, the right front sill plate(threshold) was loose. It was "repaired" and is now loose again. Dealer installed accent pin striping has chipped twice. I also have a very slight hesitation.

  • Like my Pilot very much - 2004 Honda Pilot
    By -

After a lot of research on similar SUVs (Rav, CRV, Cherokee, Pathfinder, Xterra) I drove the Pilot and immediately saw the difference. Quality interior and nice materials. Good takeoff and passing power, the ride is quiet and when youre not "on it" the 5-speed tranny will keep you cruising at around 2k RPM which helps gas mileage. When driven conservatively i average 20mpg on back road driving. ABS brakes work well, though dont always read imput well and will pull too hard sometimes. AWD feels seamless and it handles snow perfectly. Minimal quality issues, like the plastic housing inside my taillight broke and you cant take it apart to fix where it "pops" back together. Great car overall though.
