Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

No CD player with the touch screen radio. Windows roll up or down slowly.

  • One awesome Truck - 2009 Honda Pilot

This truck replaced a 2008 Volvo XC90. I never thought I would love a truck as much as the Volvo. I was very wrong. The Pilot has a very smooth ride and great pickup for its size. The interior is roomy enough for several kids and all of their gear. Road noise seems less than in older models. Gas mileage is not great - 16 mpg on average, but its mostly city driving. I have black interior/exterior and its really classy looking. Was mistaken for the big Mercedes SUV the other day!

Ive been driving my new 2007 EX Pilot for 3 months now. It has good power and acceleration. Very smooth and comfortable ride. Very good stopping power. A bit of body roll but its fun to drive. Solidly built, roomy, very good interior.

This is the first vehicle I have owned that my teenager wants to go for a ride in. The DVD/CD Rear Entertainment System is great. The kids can listen to their own music or watch a movie using the wireless headphones/DVD screen and not be complaining about the length of the trip. I have had the opportunity to drive in snow/ice and it handled great. The big difference between this and truck like SUVs is the smooth ride. While it does not handle like the sports sedan it replaced, it is a very smooth, quite and capable vehicle.

  • Pilot is Awesome - 2003 Honda Pilot

I was the first person to buy a Honda Pilot EX-L in Greenville SC and I had been waiting for it for a year. It now has 10,000 miles and is 6 months old. It has exceeded my expectations and I love driving it. The third seat has come in handy when extended family comes to visit so we can all sit comfortably. The third seat folds down so easy for my two golden retrievers to ride in the back. (Cargo liner is great for pets) I highly recommend the Pilot not only because of its great appeal, but also the reliability of a Honda. The Pilot is great because it is not too big and not too small.

Absolutely love my decision to purchase a Honda. From the salesman to the quality of the car, value of the car and great deal, it was a great investment.

  • Perfection - 2005 Honda Pilot

I researched every SUV out there for the better part of 2 years, nothing compares to the Pilot. We waited until 05 for the factory sunroof and it was worth the wait. Excellent rig, highly recommend it.

  • Worry about all the electronics... - 2017 Honda Pilot
    By -

I really love my 2017 Pilot ex-l. Lots of room and fits my teenage boys, 130 lbs dog, and all of our stuff perfectly. Great mix of options - even at base level - I was a bit disappointed that it does not have heated side mirrors, even though my 2008 Odyssey ex-l had it. I have about 8K miles on it... and recently have experienced the audio screen going black - only audio - the screen works otherwise. Honda has no service updates, and has no records of this being an issue on 2017 models - though there is plenty of problems documented on the piloteers board - for earlier models. I am hoping it is just a loose fuse and it not an indication of bigger problems.
