Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  This was one of best vehicles we owned. We have 3 children and the rear dvd comes very handy for long trips. We will buy another Pilot any day. It is fun to drive and to travel. I could not find another SUV that compares to the quality and comfort of the Pilot.

  This is a very impressive SUV built by Honda. The gas mileage on the other hand isnt. Do wish there was a larger gas tank. and that the towing package should be included with as a standard option.

  Wow - 2006 Honda Pilot

  This is our first new car since 2000. We already have a commuting vehicle (Civic) and needed something with decent hauling capacity and a little more room and comfort to tool around in. Honda Pilot fit the bill. The size, gas mileage, performance, and price all fit perfectly for us. The leather interior is wonderful. The features were right on the money. We were ready to find a nice 05 at a discount but the new interior and exterior styling really pulled us into the 06. Still breaking it in so we havent pushed the engine but it certainly gets going when it needs to. Already had a chance to use the VSA system (Warning: SUVs are not as nimble as coupes;). Worked like a charm.

  Ive been using a Pilot, but wont be buying one. Does anyone get near the advertised MPG? Does anyone with taste really get excited about the exterior? Just another SUV aspiring to be a minivan if you ask me. Not worth the price premium--you can buy a vwery decent sedan AND a pickup for the price.

  Excellent car for the paid price (exact MSRP+destination fee). The powerfull 3.5/6 cyl VTEC engine with well- designed 5-gear AT provides great acceleration at every speed. Superior stability during rapid turns due to a wide span of the wheel base and very rigid chassis. Spacious interior will satisfy the needs of sport-oriented family with a bunch of kids.

  Beware before you buy a Honda Pilot. The car has lots of peep, but that is about it. After 65 mph, the front wheel shakes like crazy ( there are hundreds of complaints on the web about this). Honda cannot find the problem. We took the car there 7-8 times!!!!! Next, after a few months, smoke began pouring out of the A.C. and could not be driven. Then a few weeks ago, an electric problem stranded my wife and daughter (who was coming home from the Doctor). The next week, the same thing happened again. Finally, the gas mileage is HORRIBLE. Just as bad as my Ford Expedition. The EPA of 17/22 is not even close!!!!!

  The only reason why I gave up my 05 Pilot was because of the additional safety features added in 06. I also opted for the Nav as well. The only 2 shortcomings as I see it are lack of "daylight" lights as found in other 06 Hondas and lower gas miles than the 05 I returned. You just cant beat the utility, reliability and fun that the Pilot gives - a perfect family car!

  Excellent Choice - 2009 Honda Pilot

  We looked at every Mid-size SUV on the market and the 2009 Honda Pilot was at the bottom of our list. My husband test drove it first and said I should really check this car out and I am so glad I did. It is beautiful inside and out, fun to drive, easy to park, great stereo, kids love it, and it has every bell and whistle you can think of. I am extremely pleased with the new Pilot. Who needs a mini van when there is an SUV like this on the market?
