This Year's Model Updates:

The 2005 Honda Pilot receives a new 255-hp engine, along with numerous functional changes. A tire-pressure monitoring system has been added, and EX models with leather get vehicle stability control. Slightly increased fuel capacity helps extend driving range, and a revised power steering pump provides improved on-center steering feel. Inside the cabin, the instrument panel has been tweaked with ambient lighting and a six-disc CD changer for all EX trims. A driver footrest has been added, and leather-upholstered EX models can now be had with a sunroof. The LX now has standard keyless entry, and all models get an integrated remote key and fob. Honda has made slight frame changes this year that resulted in improved IIHS crash test ratings.

Pros:
  • Roomy interior with eight-passenger seating, versatile storage and cargo-hauling abilities, many standard features, comfortable ride, smooth power delivery.
Cons:
  • Mediocre towing capacity, side curtain airbags not available, feels big behind the wheel.

  • Fun and Functional SUV - 2005 Honda Pilot

We bought our Pilot to replace a Yukon XL. We test drove the Pilot and fell in love! The dealership was a breeze to do business with, we got an excellent deal. The ride of the Pilot is so smooth and the shifting of the vehicle is hardly noticable, huge plus from the Yukon. We have two children and they LOVE this SUV! Both have lots of room and seating choices...they DONT have to sit by each other. The DVD system is a lifesaver on long roadtrips. We cant say enuf about our Pilot!

This SUV is a fine example of a excellence. It is not only a great car to drive but also the best looking car in the Super Market parking lot. The Honda Pilot is a must to own. We truely love this car. We bought this car fully loaded.

I traded my 2002 BMW 325i for a 2005 Honda Pilot EXL. Although both cars are inherently different, I love the versatility and value of my Pilot. The drive is incredibly smooth and it handles really well, almost like a car. And I love the sunroof and plush leather interior with wood trim. All this from someone who swore shed never buy an SUV!

Great Car, fun to drive. The interior was really well thought out. The Pilot feels solid and handles very well. I looked at several mid size SUVs and this one was the most spacious and family friendly.

I got tired of using my Accord like a truck so I decided on the Pilot. Its drives great, has awesome power, and carries anything I need. I havent regretted my decision. Every day I drive the Pilot, I like it more.

  • Wonderful Suv. - 2005 Honda Pilot

This car is wonderful. The ride is the best and the seats are very, very comfortable. The quality and features are a B+. This car has a very, very powerful v6 engine with 274 HP which gets up hills with very little trouble at all. this car is a wonderful family suv although the 3rd-row rear seat doesnt have enough leg room. This car is overall wonderful.

Very comfortable ride and interior. Good visibility and tons of storage space. Good for short and tall people. Great offroad.

If you have ever owned a Honda, you will recognize the feel and the performance in this vehicle. It has three rows of seats and it comfortable in every one. You have great visibility and plenty of power to get you anywhere you want to go. It just "fits" perfectly. I even towed a large trailer and I couldnt even feel any difference in the performance of my Pilot.

Great vehicle - never thought I would like driving an SUV, but with typical Honda design, it is a pleasure to drive. It has a very smooth ride and handles just like my Honda Accord. Interior layout is excellent.

  • Great family S.U.V. - 2005 Honda Pilot
    By -

This S.U.V. is bigger than it looks. The seats are very supportive and comfortable. The rear fold down seat is very handy. When the rear seat is in use, I found it to have as much leg and head room as our 2003 Toyota Siennas rear seat. It has good acceleration for a v-6. Surprisingly it handles like a car. The Toyota Sequoia is a great car and probably looks a little better but the Pilot has a fold down seat which the Sequoia does not and there is not much difference in interior space.
