Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

This vehicle has done everything promised. It is a wonderful alternative for a family that is anti- mini-van. It has a truck capacity while still driving like a car. As a woman it is the perfect vehicle.

  • Bills Review - 2003 Honda Pilot

I was a 37 year GM/Ford person. Glad I made the switch. I tow a boat and also load it up with gardening stuff. This is by far the best tow vehicle I have ever owned, in both handling and power. It also has the smallest engine. I did have some problem with an A/C leak but that has been corrected. I do not like the air flow system very much. On a cool day the vent doesnt give you cool outside air- you have to put on the A/C or open the windows. Which brings up another problem. At highway speeds with only one back window open I get this wierd air compression thing that bothers my ears. Playing with windows or turning on the A/C corrects it. Bill

Wow! What a great car! I shopped around for months looking for an SUV that had everything that I wanted without all the money. This car is fun to drive, has plenty of room, great styling, and wow lowest sticker price of them all! Honda makes a great car!

  • Sold my MDX - 2006 Honda Pilot

Had a 2001 Acura MDX which I decided to sell. Looked at the Honda Pilot and the mix. Bought the pilot because I could not justify the diff in price of around $9000. Rides as well or better than the Acura and mileage is about the same. Am very satisfied with the Pilot so far.

An excellent choice in SUVs. More than adequate power, good handling and thus far exceedingly quiet on the road. Satelite radio is terrific, comfortable seats and plenty of room. All in all, a very good design, carried out extremely well. Safety scores are at the head of the class.

  • Design Defect of Front Springs - 2009 Honda Pilot
    By -

The steering on my brand new 2009 2WD Pilot was pulling to the right the first day off the lot. At first, I thought it was the road, but the pull was consistent on all road surfaces. After calling the dealer, I discovered that Honda did not redesign the springs for the all-new 2009 Pilot, and as a result, the alignment problems are becoming prevalent. Heres the problem: the 2009 models have more weight distribution in the front compared to 2008 models, and heavier springs should have been used. The dealer indicated they needed Honda approval to fix the problem. The fix consists of replacing the right front spring with a rear spring from a 2009 4WD model.

  • My first SUV - 2009 Honda Pilot

This was my first SUV and I love it! Ive always owned sports cars, so it as a bit tough to choose which SUV was practical. It was a decision between the Ford Edge or the Pilot. After test driving the Pilot, I took it home the same night. Within days i was getting acquainted quite well with my Pilot. The interior is very roomy, perfect especially when you have kids or to jam a bunch of your friends for a weekend getaway. Not too happy with the mileage but expected for an SUV. Ive already taken my pilot to the nations capital from NJ for a break in. It was smooth riding all the way down even with icy and hazardous road conditions on I95. Overall this vehicle is safe and reliable.

We have really enjoyed this car over the past four months. It is great for our family of four. It is roomy with plenty of room in the back for luggage on long trips. The third row is great when we have friends or family who want to ride. The kids love the DVD. We hightly recommend this vehicle.
