Overview & Reviews
Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.
Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

Dissapointed to say the least - 2016 Honda Pilot
By Jim - January 29 - 12:31 amAfter having 2010 Pilot Touring we have been waiting for this to come out. With the excitement of it we bought it soon after dealership received them. We noticed the different feel of the transmission from the start but the salesman said they use this same transmission in the Acuras so I thought it was normal and would adapt to our driving habits. But after owning it for a couple months it never did adapt but actually got worse. I had the vehicle looked at to see if there was a new update for the transmission but they said it is normal. I cant believe Acura owners would accept a transmission like this. Needless to say this will be the last Pilot I ever own, looking at trading it in on a Toyota as my wife and I hate this car.

Great Ride - 2003 Honda Pilot
By lake - January 24 - 10:00 amThis is our 4th Honda and we are very pleased. When when purcahse it had 12 miles on it. We just returned from vacation and the trip was great. Our Pilot has the DVD system with Kids this is a must. The ride is very comfortible and the noise level next to nothing. There is plenty of storage and the 3rd seat folds down giving even more area. We also met other family members and with the 3rd seat up it gave us all room to ride together while seeing the sights. Power is not an issue either we had no problem on the hills or passing. One great ride.If you live in TN see West Side Honda in Knoxville great people to work with.

HappyPilot - 2003 Honda Pilot
By HappyPilot - January 24 - 10:00 amMy family and I are happy with our Pilot. We try not to drive it all the time because we treasure the experience of driving/riding it. And we want to keep the mileage low because we intend on owning this vehicle for many years. It is THAT nice! We were treated very nicely at Culver City, California, Miller Honda, especially by Mr. Mike Swede. HappyPilot

2003 Honda Pilot, thumbs up! - 2003 Honda Pilot
By mark prusa - January 24 - 10:00 amWe live in Denver but the dealers here were unwilling to negotiate. In Omaha we were able to save over $1K off list price! Only option we went for was back-up sensors. In the short month we have owned the Pilot the sensors have already saved us twice. Gas mileage on the ride from Omaha to Denver was 17 MPG. Best mileage in the 2000 miles we have put on the vehicle was 19 MPG. Performance is adequate but NOT fast. This thing is heavy and big, a V6 is okay but a V8 would be better. What the heck, the mileage is already marginal... Drives great and continues the Honda tradition of good build quality and design.
