Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

Had to wait 4 weeks to get the vehicle, but dealer experience was very positive. Loaded vehicle up with many dealer installed options, we hope that was not a mistake. Dealers servicemen took a lot of pride in prepping vehicle.

I bought this Pilot EX two weeks ago and love it. It has plenty of power when needed and has a comfortable ride. The stability control works great on snow and ice, which we have 8 months of the year in Alaska. I was going around an icy corner and the traction/stability control kicked in and there was no problem. The car behind me wasnt so lucky and spun around in the middle of the street. There is lots of room for passengers and your cargo when the seats are folded down. The headroom is best in its class and theres plenty of legroom too. I tested several other makes before deciding on this one. Being 6 3" I need room to spare and the Pilot has it.

Just bought my first Honda Pilot at the end of June and love it, so far. Coming from Sequoia I was worried about room as older Pilots were not big enough. Rooms is very sufficient and acceleration will run circles around Sequoia. The vehicle has to be one of the most solid vehicles I have ever purchased, well built vehicle. I had to take the vehicle to the dealer as it was "pulling" to the right as indicated in a lot of 2009 reviews. Seems to have improved after service. Gas Mileage is averaging 16-18 city and 21-22 highway.

With a growing family, our Pilot has been a grat asset. The DVD is a must when traveling with small children.

What a great car. Just got it, but already know it is well made and built to last. All the little things seem to come together just right, the car feels solid, has an excellent turning radius and does not seem "truck-like".

Ive been waiting for Honda to come out with a larger SUV for years. They finally came through with a great product as usual. Strong performance, great ride and Hoda reliability - you cant go wrong!

I cant believe how GREAT this pilot is. It is so comfortable, handles well, electronics could not be better. First tank of fuel got 16 mpg with mixed driving.

  • nice car. happy owner. - 2003 Honda Pilot

like the car a lot. have owned about 6 hondas now and they have all proven to be reliable and solid. like the interior styling a lot but still getting used to gear shift and backing this big thing up. 8^) being used to a 2000 accord, great outdoor vehicle. rode nicely over field and bumps. liked my salesman, didnt care for the "sales manager". agreed to the deal then said they couldnt do it but then changed their mind again as my wife and i were 2 feet from the exit. typical stupid and insulting sales tactics. no fault of Honda though.

  • Disregard negative comments! Test it for yourself. - 2016 Honda Pilot

I am seeing a lot of negative comments but if you are expecting a Mercedes GLE for under $35000 then you are dreaming. I bought Pilot LX 2016 for my wife while we own a 2011 Toyota RAV4. And after driving Pilot I sold my RAV4 to buy another Pilot LX. Reasons are : 1)Same 22.5mpg on both even though Pilot is much bigger. 2) Pilot was much smoother and quite (in RAV4 we could not have a conversation in the highway especially with people on 2nd row). 3)Much more powerful and better pickup (my RAV4 was 4 cylinder; cant comment on RAV4 2011 6 cylinder). 4) When we make trips with friends we haul them in our 2 SUVs (3rd row is good enough for 2 people under 6ft or 3 kids; contrary to other SUVs with 3rd row where your head hits the top on each bump. There is no better SUV of same size and at same price in the market today!
