Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  • Great SUV! - 2004 Honda Pilot

This our 3rd Honda, Never had any problems. I had been looking at 2001 Lexus RX 300s priced close to 30k. I thought the Pilot price was close to 40k. Wife said the RX 300 looked too much like a station wagon but she would consider a Pilot. I could not believe the MSRP for an EX with leather and all the goodies and a DVD system was just over 30k! Brand new! She loves it and so do I and I know we are driving in one of the safest vehicles on the road. How can you put a price on family safety? I didnt think I would use the DVD much, but when she shops, I sit in the back with my own A/C and watch LOTRs or nap. You cant get better quality at this price.

  • Take a test drive, you might like it!!! - 2006 Honda Pilot

This is my first SUV, and so far I like it. I heard quotes like "it drives like a car", but I find that the AWD makes it feel somewhat like a truck in that as soon as I ease off the accelerator the car will not coast at the same speed like a sedan. Engine has plently of power when fully loaded, but I have not tried towing yet. The ride is comfortable, and quite at lower speeds. At highway speeds, the tires "thump" when traveling over breaks in the pavement. Not sure if its the bridgestone tires or the design of the suspension. Handles superbly. First road trip averaged 18.5 MPG during the new car break in period. Anyone looking at a SUV should test drive. EX has all features I needed.

  • Great for the Kids - 2004 Honda Pilot

Left a 2000 minivan for the Pilot. Minivan was great for the little ones but it was time for a change. Pilot handles very well and for a high profile vehicle it gets pretty good gas milage. Standard AWD is a plus as is the wireless headphones for the kids.

Just purchased the 2004 Honda Pilot. It is a great vehicle. Very pleased with our purchase. Hondas are the best vehicles on the road.

  • Highly recommed - 2005 Honda Pilot

Honda has a winner with the "Pilot"! Extremely good handling, hugs the road, good acceleration. Wonderful for travel. Fuel efficient, however as with any other vehicle, could be better. Interior is comfortable and very versatile. Both rear seats are 60/40 seats and completely fold down, cup holders, outlet plugs(for all the kids gizmos)and reading lights through out the vehicle. And last but certainly not least the great safety features! I highly recommend this vehicle!

Great dependable, spacious, still trying to figure out all the technology in it. Wish it got better gas mileage, but It has all the features we were looking for in a large SUV.

  • First time buyer of a Honda - 2006 Honda Pilot

Excellent vehicle; very smooth, roomy, loaded with features. Plenty of power on the highway, and mileage seems to be reasonable for a large SUV. Had an 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee previously, and the Pilot rides like a Mercedes compared to it.

  • So far,So good - 2005 Honda Pilot

Have owned this truck for 2 months and everything is great.Very smooth and solid ride.Great acceleration when needed however when windows are up in the front and the back windows are down you get a real bad thumping sound which can be rather noisy.

  • Pleased except for the radio.... - 2016 Honda Pilot
    By -

The touch screen with the steering wheel controls works well, once you figure them out, but I dont like not being able to tune the AM/FM/XM radio to a nonpreset. It is very cumbersome to change the station to a specific one, especially if the only option is screen touch, & can be dangerous when driving.
