Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

I have never driven a vehicle with such a smooth ride and transmission. Fuel economy is not the best, but it does beat the Suburban I traded out of. The Pilot does a nice job of getting my family and my stuff where we need to go.

I have owned a 2003 MDX for about a year. I just bought a Honda Pilot EXL w/ DVD for my wife. While I absolutely love the way my MDX looks and performs, after driving the Pilot for a few days, I am convinced that my wife has essentially got the same quality and performance from her Pilot for about $9000 less. So, far the Pilot has been very impressive in terms of the driving experience, its looks, its build quality, thoughtful design, fuel economy (it runs on regular v/s premium for MDX), and passanger and cargo capacity. I would have liked a bit more power (it has 240hp, but even without that it is real close to PERFECT.

First Honda and I love it. All its cracked up to be. Havent tried the towing package yet, but should have plenty of ooomph to pull a 3500# pontoon boat. Hope the Pilots quality doesnt get well known; everyone will want one then.

OK, so I just have 300 miles on my new Honda Pilot EX-L, but I took a 200+ mile trip in it the day after I bought it. It handles well on curvy two lane roads, on four lane highways, or bumpy city streets. All in all, it is a fun vehicle to drive and has lots of little places to tuck away all kinds of things...

I have 2003 Pilot more than 7 months. Based on the TMV price and other buyers comments on price, I sent email to about 15 dealers in Illinois asking 2K below MSRP, and I got 2 emails from dealers offering to match the price I asked, and I ended up paying less than 30K (pay cash full) including doc fee, title, dest charge and tax. After confirming the deal over email exchange, I just stop by the dealer, pay $$ and pick up the car. Spent less than 30 min at the dealer to sign the papers!!!

Just the right size SUV for a family of 4. Have had no problems after 17,000 miles and mileage is OK at 19-20 avg.. To carry 4 mt bikes installed hitch myself and fairly easy to install. Overall very pleased but I wish the road noise was less.

I was considering purchasing a Toyota Highlander but a friend begged me to check out the Pilot. I was shocked by how big it was on the inside while looking rather compact on the inside. The fit and finish is fantastic, while offering lots of extras for the money. This is a much better buy than the Highlander. Im VERY pleased with my Pilot.
