Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  • Dony Buy this car, radio does not work well!!! - 2016 Honda Pilot

FM radio does not work. Honda is aware but says sorry we dont have a fix for this. Dealership is aware, sorry no fix. But Honda keeps making and selling these vehicles. Dont pay $36000 for a car that does not function like a new car and the manufacturer does not care enough to fix the problem.

  • Be Warned - No Blue in Bluetooth - 2016 Honda Pilot

Blue tooth works like no other car...and not in a good way. Very confusing and difficult to use. So poor I received a ticket because one has to transfer the call when one receives it. I did not do it in time and was pulled over by officer friendly. We are debating to sell the car because of how bad the blue tooth performs. While I am on a role...the transmission jerks between gears. Make sure you are able to test the blue tooth with your phone and drive it in many conditions prior to buying it. Car does drive well and handles well.

  • Overall great car - 2006 Honda Pilot

We bought this car because of the published gas mileage and were a little disappointed when it didnt live up to it. Otherwise, this car has been a fun and reliable car. Lots of room and storage space. Great car for hauling around kids.

  • What I expected and a little more - 2017 Honda Pilot
    By -

Good comfort and expected performance since I was a 2005 Pilot owner. New features such as back up camera and passenger side camera for lane change and blind spot are great. Too bad it didnt include drivers side as well. Side mirrors fold back on this model is something that I wish was electronically adjustable as I fold them back every day manually. Plenty of room and great console. Plenty of compartments on the doors and back areas. Love the hatchback open ability from the key ring. Easy to open and close without having to do it manually. Touch unlock on the doors and key less start a big plus. Getting used to the higher ride for distance estimating in front takes a little getting used to. You cant really see the front of the car to judge how close you are. Bluetooth match up fine for our two Android phones however the interface for playing music from our phones doesnt have the flexibility for selecting songs, albums or playlists that the phone does. Using google maps from the phone interface works fine.

Traded in our 1999 Subaru Outback Ltd. Wagon. LOVED the Subaru but needed more seating. Test drove Explorer, Mountaineer, Durango and Montero. NO comparison with the ride and resale value. Saved $$$ over the others and got a superior vehicle.

This is a great vehicle. Its reliable, comfortable and fun to drive. Im always confident in bad weather. Best of all it drives like a car but does the work of a truck, accommodating large loads, and lots of kids.

  • Honda Pilot from Hell - 2016 Honda Pilot
    By -

The Honda from hell. Bought a 2016 Honda Pilot Touring. Picked up my new SUV from Morristown Honda and took it on a road trip the next day. It failed me three times on a road trip with computer issues to So Fla. The power steering wouldnt work along with other issues on the dash board. Needless to say, It was left at the dealership in South Fla the following morning. After 12 days left the vehicle in So Fla. Its now day 25 without my new vehicle. Have requested another vehicle since it never worked safely the day after purchase. Honda Motors and Morristown Honda have only just given me lip service on that issue. They plan to ship it to me when repaired. Today I heard from the service department of the So Fla dealership and informed me the part has come in and if the SURGERY goes well I will get a call back. Never happened. Shame on Honda Motors for not stepping up to the plate and get me a replacement Pilot.
