This Year's Model Updates:

The 2005 Honda Pilot receives a new 255-hp engine, along with numerous functional changes. A tire-pressure monitoring system has been added, and EX models with leather get vehicle stability control. Slightly increased fuel capacity helps extend driving range, and a revised power steering pump provides improved on-center steering feel. Inside the cabin, the instrument panel has been tweaked with ambient lighting and a six-disc CD changer for all EX trims. A driver footrest has been added, and leather-upholstered EX models can now be had with a sunroof. The LX now has standard keyless entry, and all models get an integrated remote key and fob. Honda has made slight frame changes this year that resulted in improved IIHS crash test ratings.

Pros:
  • Roomy interior with eight-passenger seating, versatile storage and cargo-hauling abilities, many standard features, comfortable ride, smooth power delivery.
Cons:
  • Mediocre towing capacity, side curtain airbags not available, feels big behind the wheel.

Had to have it after the first test drive. Very comfortable ride and a good solid feel of the road makes this one of the best SUVs available.

  • Best vehicle I ever owned - 2005 Honda Pilot

I love my Pilot! It is just as good if not better than the Explorers I owned, so much so that I wont go back to Ford. The vehicle is reliable, even when you dont treat it right. It rides like a car, although gas mileage could be better. It got us thru a nasty winter with ease. We would have bought the CRV, but were big folk, and this car fits us nicely. Honda, youve won two more converts!

This SUV is a very comfortable ride. The 255 HP engine gives it a nice kick with smooth acceleration. The interior is accommodating and cozy. The wind shield wipers are in an awkward position, however, and there is a six cd player and another solo cd player which is weird, but poses no problems. Also, a silver trim has been added to the interior for cosmetic purposes which I can do without. Despite some disappointment about some cosmetic decisions this vehicle is powerful, comfortable, handles beautifully and is thoroughly enjoyable.

This is really a powerful engine especially on terrain climbing hills and mountains.reliable during 14 hrs long drive from San francisco to Tucson.Seems like a V8 engine, tough and durable.Easy to drive and comfortable, its very challenging when you go beyond 90 mph so smooth with zero friction above the road.

  • Great for road trips - 2005 Honda Pilot

We bought this SUV to drive on our honeymoon, as we were planning on driving 2500+ miles, with a dog. This was the most comfortable ride, and lots of storage room. Perfect for long trips, and daily travel.

I have previously been a Toyota guy, but Ive been so impressed with Honda I dont think I will ever go back to Toyota. This vehicle has it all at a lower price. I can only find a few small things that I dont like. If you pay tolls, the coin holder slots are NOT easy to access while approaching a Toll. Also, the rear door has no good place to push it shut. I use the Honda emblem, and the license plate rattles because it is held by only two srews instead of 4.
