Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  • If Mom is not happy, no one is - 2016 Honda Pilot

I owned a 2007 pilot, followed by a 2012 Odyssey, followed by last year we purchased a 2016 Honda Pilot Touring. I love Hondas and really only had one car in mind when it was time to trade in my vehicle. I have two small children so the entertainment system was definitely important. I also drive a lot for work so a clear, easy to use Bluetooth is also a priority. Honda features are great with no concerns. Now the Bluetooth. I have two iPhones 6 devices (one ATT and one Verizon). When I go to make a call, it has to make a voice connection and THEN you have to touch transfer on the screen to get it to switch to Bluetooth. So long for handsfree calling!! I took it to Honda and they said it was a Handsfree Bluetooth issue and that I should contact them. If you google it and look at their compatibility, it only is up to OS 8.3 (the current update was 10.2). It does not even mention an iPhone 7, so good luck if you have that. My second issue is the RES. If you have a child that can work the remote, they can handle it from the back seat. Otherwise, you are screwed and will have kids yelling at you that the movie wont start and it started over every time you got back in the car while running errands. (Once again, Honda says it is the new DVDs that just do not work). If the DVD goes to a start menu, it will not start automatically. Apparently, older DVDs may have an autoplay and those supposedly will work. Either way, there is no control over the movie from the front seat. After paying 48000 for a new Honda, it feels like a kick in the gut, when all of the older models are more sophisticated and operate better than the new 2016.

    Wonderful car!

  • strut problem - 2004 Honda Pilot

I had to have both front struts replaced within 2 weeks of my purchase. The warranty took care of it and the dealership gave me a rental. I was a major inconvince, but I would still purchace another one. I hope I do not have any future problems.

    Great vehicle, good price.

  • Great vehicle! - 2004 Honda Pilot

The buyer needs to understand how the ABS (Anti-lock Brakes System) works before it engages and what will happen when it does. Otherwise, I LOVE my Pilot! Its a great vehicle with lots of room--almost like a moms mini-van inside with a sporty look on the outside.

  • Best SUV on the market, the Honda Pilot - 2003 Honda Pilot

Just took a 1,000 mile trip with the whole family in our new Honda Pilot. We were very comfortably traveling through the worst ice storm in 7 years with our pilot. Plenty of highway power and quiet engine with the extra 5th gear for high speeds. Incredible 7 speaker stereo with subwoofer. You can drive through deep ice and snow at 60mph without caution with the incredible VTM- 4 AWD. You dont even notice the roads are solid ice.

This is one of the best vehicles I have ever drove, it is really nice.

  • Fun but expensive, and truck like - 2010 Honda Pilot
    By -

Just bought 2010 Pilot EXL 4x4 found my old 2004 Pilot EXL built better and more miles per gallon. Their 22/18 is way off this time. I drive 90% on eco drive to save gas and get nowhere near mileage advertised. Should give you roof rack bars why an extra? Drive and handles bumps like a truck wish I had my 2004 Pilot, pulls to right thought it was just me but everyone is complaining of this. Cheaper mats and extras but I paid $5,000.00 more than 2004. Inflation i guess? But test drive and shop for best price dont pay sticker and buy no extras. I found cheaper online and mailed to me in 2-3 days saved over 50% from dealers price. Cross bars, bumper guards, floor mats, dual head rest dvd 75% saved.

  • Best Mid Sized SUV - 2005 Honda Pilot

Had a 2002 Envoy prior to the Pilot. No comparison. The Honda is quieter, smoother riding, more spacious and comfortable interior. 10K trouble free miles so far far and has not been back to the dealer for anything.

  • gks pilot - 2006 Honda Pilot

Excellent truck. Short of a heavy towing need, this is all the utility you need. Great build quality.
