Overview & Reviews
Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.
Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

2003 Honda Pilot - 2003 Honda Pilot
By JL -NY - November 17 - 2:00 amMy wife and I went out to the dealership to see the Pilot just curious. We end up trading in our mini SUV for it. Yonkers Honda gave us a good deal and two weeks or so later we had the vehicle. At its size it drives so good, very spacious inside, and the 3rd row seat is great for extra passenger. Good mileage too. My kids loves it. However the DVD or Navigation system shoul be independent of leather package, and running boards should be standard.

My First SUV - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Brian - November 16 - 4:26 pmI got tired of using my Accord like a truck so I decided on the Pilot. Its drives great, has awesome power, and carries anything I need. I havent regretted my decision. Every day I drive the Pilot, I like it more.

Untitled - 2003 Honda Pilot
By sfisher - November 11 - 10:00 amThis is a typical Honda. The features in the vehicles make good sense but nothing is too fancy. This is our first car that is not a sedan, thus we are acclimating ourselves to being high up. It looks like it will be easy. I cannot figure how to downshift into third gear, but the dealer shold provide a clue. This SUV is a keeper, like all Hondas.

If you can find one, BUY IT - 2003 Honda Pilot
By DukeBlueDevil - November 7 - 10:00 amWe waited quite a while to get this car- -all the while seeing others zipping around in theirs and feeling Pilot envy! I LOVE THIS CAR. Our first Honda but definitely not our last. We are converts from the Volvo crowd. All I can say is that it was well worth the wait for it to arrive at the dealership.

Honda Surprise - 2009 Honda Pilot
By hwccsuburbs - November 6 - 5:30 amThere are a lot of negative comments about this car. We LOVE IT. It feels like a truck when you sit in it. It seats 8 COMFORTABLY. It drives so quiet and so smooth. The toys are great. The sound is amazing. We gave it a test drive to dismiss it and drove it off the lot!

Love that Honda is concerned with safety! - 2016 Honda Pilot
By Ohio Momma - November 3 - 3:57 pmWe love our Pilot! It is sporty and stylish. If comparing it to our 2012 Honda Odyssey, it has less leg room in each row and less cargo room in the back. I am short and can easily climb into the back of the Odyssey to get an item that has rolled (b/c our 3rd row is folded) to right behind the 2nd row. With the Pilot, I have to get a running start and jump into the back of it b/c it sits so much higher. Compared to other SUVs on the market (in its class) there is no comparison. The Pilot is the best! We also considered a GMC Terrian or Acadia, but the safety features on the Pilot (with Honda Sensing) pulled us away from those options. The Acadia wasnt even "small overlap" crash tested!... This momma isnt going there... if you arent crash testing, I am not buying! The Toyota Highlander looks nice also as well as the Nissian options, but we felt the Pilot was for us! We love our Honda Odyssey, so that probably aided in our decision. Pros- -Roomy front seats -lots of small areas for storage and cup holders -love the body style -Love the Touring details... like that the car knows where I want my seat. I am 5 ft tall and my hubby is 61", so we are constantly trying to find that sweet spot, where the seat is in just the right place, so I love that with my key the car knows its me and puts the seat right back where I like it!! Cons- -One of my biggest complaints would be that compared to our Honda Odyssey, there are very few air vents in the 2nd and 3rd rows. On a hot summer day those little, sweaty peeps back there want some air pouring on them! My poor baby, who is rear facing, gets no air vents pointed in his direction due to where they are located. -When "Eco" is on the pick-up from stopped to going is SOOOO slow! Dont pull out unless you have a lot of time to get moving. BUT, if you turn "Eco" off the pick-up is GREAT!

Audio system is a nightmare - 2016 Honda Pilot
By shanacoker@hotmail.com - November 3 - 3:08 pmI purchased a used 2016 pilot touring AWD from our local Toyota dealer- it had everything I was looking for in a Highlander, but was a cheaper option. Got an extended (expensive) warranty, thank goodness. The Bluetooth has never worked. It has been in the shop 6 days. So frustrated. They replaced the audio unit which they said was 1,000 bucks. It didnt fix the problem, now its actually worse. The radio will just start skipping around and has frozen twice- I had to shut it off completely. Cant talk on the phone hands-free, which is a terrible problem for me. I love the car, but I cant keep it if the infotainment system does not work. So frustrated and just sad.

Wonderful Suv. - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Honda - November 2 - 12:26 amThis car is wonderful. The ride is the best and the seats are very, very comfortable. The quality and features are a B+. This car has a very, very powerful v6 engine with 274 HP which gets up hills with very little trouble at all. this car is a wonderful family suv although the 3rd-row rear seat doesnt have enough leg room. This car is overall wonderful.
