Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  • Horrible break rotors - 2014 Honda Pilot
    By -

Honda shouldve be ashamed of such a poor design on the rotor breaks. They warp every 5000 to 6000 miles. NEVER buy Honda if you can buy anything else. They treat you as a stupid at the dealership and they make a ignorant face when you mention the problem as if yours is the only one with this problem and it is probably because of you who drives it wrong way. Again, do not buy Honda if you can.

  • Excellent SUV - 2006 Honda Pilot

This is an outstanding SUV. It is a great value. It is a wonderful family vehicle. It get decent gas mileage despite its large size. It is fun and enjoyable to drive.

  • Almost perfection... - 2003 Honda Pilot

The Pilot handles the road beautifully. It is easily the best driving SUV Ive ever owned. The design of the car creates enormous interior space in a mid-size body. DVD/ Entertainment system is a god send on long drives with small children or with adults who act like small children. Engine is smooth and quiet while providing enough horsepower to easily accelerate at a speed that speeding tickets can become a problem.

  • Best Suv out There - 2003 Honda Pilot
    By -

I bought my Pilot in October of 2002 and have driven it over 43,000 miles as of July, 2004. I have not one complaint about this SUV whatsoever. It is extremely comfortable, even on long trips. The fit & finish is impeccable, there is plenty of room in the cabin, not to mention the generous storage compartments! The console is amazing with the cell phone holder, etc... I test drove the Explorer, The Mountaineer and The Jeep Grand Cherokee (The Cherokee was like driving a dump truck), None compared to the overall value & ride the Honda Pilot served up. I was hooked as soon as I got behind the wheel and started my test drive.

  • 2005 EXL w/Navigation - 2005 Honda Pilot

Just went over 1000 miles with new Pilot. My wife kept her 4 X 4 Chev. Suburban, but I doubt she will use it very much...the Honda is easier to get around in, especially in shopping center parking lots. Great riding car with a great sound system. Looking forward to the Honda reliability. Wish gas mileage was better, but it beats our Suburban hands down!

  • Beware of the xm ready feature - 2006 Honda Pilot
    By -

One of the best autos Ive purchased, with one exception. Honda really scams you on the xm ready radio feature. Myself already a consumer of xm radio I thought all I had to do was get my subscription transferred. Wrong! The xm ready feature means for approx. $600.00 us dollars you have to pay for the hardware you then will be xm ready. Contacted Honda and they really didnt care what I thought. Because I had already purchased my pilot.

  • Good car but not a good start...... - 2004 Honda Pilot
    By -

Bought my Pilot EX-L last Saturday. I like everything about this car and I drove off the lot with my family on Saturday night. While we are driving back home, I noticed that I could not roll down the front and back passenger side windows from the driver side control buttons. In addiion, door lock and unlock buttom from driver side would not work. And last but the least, interior lights would not go off. It has been only two days and I am taking my new Pilot back to the dealer for some minor repair. Its a good car but I would recommend you to check little things like buttons windows and door locks, etc.

  • Just passed 9,000 - 2016 Honda Pilot

Very happy with my Pilot. My last SUV was a Saturn Outlook, which I was able to get 200,000 miles on. Pilot, in my opinion, looks great. The ride is outstanding and quiet. I upgraded on the stereo, was a little disappointed that it doesnt really rock when I crank it. I did a lot of research and test drives. If you are a bigger guy (6-2 +) this is a great ride. It feels larger in the hip and shoulder area. Also, it has more headroom. The legroom was a little less than my Outlook. I like to stretch my legs out to ride. I know I am rambling. Just wanted to say that I am very happy with my purchase and would encourage you to test drive.

  • Has exceeded my expectations. - 2016 Honda Pilot

Stereo sound quality is poor. Everything else on the car has exceeded my expectations. Very happy with the purchase.
