Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  • Great Vehicle - 2008 Honda Pilot

I love my Pilot. Only issue after 25K miles is a new battery replacement, which was done under warranty. The car has a comfortable ride and great seating capacity, which with carpooling we fill up every day. We love the DVD player, though on the freeway we have to turn it up to MAX to hear it. When taking on a heavy load (like once we loaded it with boxes of books)the rear of the car bottoms out. Sunroof is a little too slow to open and close. Other than that, a near perfect car.

  • I Love my Pilot! - 2010 Honda Pilot

I purchased my Pilot in November of 09 so it is one year old now. I have not experienced any of the problems that others have mentioned i.e. chipping paint, pulling to the right and moonroof problems. I am really happy with the way the car drives. The mileage could be better but, the mileage is what the sticker said it would be. I dont understand why so many reviewers say they are so surprised with the mileage they get? The navigation system is wonderful and I really love having the back up camera and noise sensors. There is only one thing I dont like. It has two empty places on the drivers left hand side of the dash. What are they there for? It makes it look like something is missing

  • Dont buy the honda entertainment package - 2010 Honda Pilot

I truly enjoy my Honda Pilot. I would buy it again, however I would make one change. I would not buy the DVD package. you cannot hear the move playing in the back unless you use the headphones, kids/teenagers do not want to use headphones...

  • Noise - 2008 Honda Pilot
    By -

Bought this car used just before a 1800 mile round trip. The road noise is terrible unless the road is smooth as glass. Interstate highways that have been resurfaced caused so much noise that conversation or listening to the radio is impossible. Secondary roads very bad too. The car has new Goodyear Integrity tires. Is there any tire that will dampen road noise? The drivers seat is uncomfortable. At idle, the radiator cooling fan creates a rumble that resonates through the car. The AC fan just started creating a pulsing fan noise. Im very dissatisfied and about ready to a loss on the price I paid and dump this car and go back to Ford or GM.

  • Great SUV for what it is. - 2011 Honda Pilot
    By -

I have been very happy with the Pilot overall. Seats are comfortable, I dont think they would be if you are overweight, Im 62", 210 lbs. I dont find the ECO mode annoying, you can notice on the highway when it changes but, not after it rides the same, doesnt affect acceleration. It does have a rougher ride than I expected, more like an SUV than car or crossover. Gas mileage isnt great but you know that going in, we average about 17 mpg. The interior is nice and very functional. It is not a Lexus! To all the people complaining and comparing to other SUVs, spend the extra 10K, 20K or more and then youll have what your looking for. Great car overall, no mechanical problems yet.

  • Great vehicle - 2011 Honda Pilot

Recently purchased 2011 Pilot Touring for my wife. She loves the vehicle. Drives great, quiet inside, great technology with the NAV and voice recognition system. Contrary to some of the reviews, the seats are very comfortable and we do not notice any engine shifting when in ECO mode. The RES is fantastic particularly given the fact that the kids can operate it from the back. In fact, they can change the stations on the radio from the rear seats which saves us from having to surf their preferred channels (and when it gets too much, we lock out their controls). We have owned a Range Rover and GMC Yukon in the past and quite frankly, we are enjoying the Pilot more.

  • Great SUV - 2011 Honda Pilot

Overall, the Pilot is everything I expected and more. It is a solid vehicle, like most Hondas are, and it performs as advertised. It is comfortable and solid. I took it on two long trips and it performed flawlessly. My wife and I love the navigation system. It is well worth the extra cost. Gas mileage could be better. I love this car.

  • Smart Value SUV for Family - 2008 Honda Pilot
    By -

Owned for 3 years 33K mi now, buying out lease because it held its value so well. Now worth thousands more than buyout. Not put a dime in besides scheduled maint. Replaced a Ford Escape that was nowhere near as reliable. Once engine is broken in we began to avg 17 mpg around town vs 15 mpg when new. Avg 20 mpg hwy on 1,000 mi trips loaded to visit family. Remember it is a Honda, but it is still an SUV. Has excellent power for an vehicle this size. Plenty of room with the seats folded down, which is easy to do. Leather interior is holding up fine, and is easy to clean up with kids and dogs. I-pod adapter can be run through rear entertainment system. Think it is better looking than new model.

  • Dont Understand Why all the Drama - 2011 Honda Pilot
    By -

Purchased vehicle brand new. Drives quietly, smooth and very comfortable. Im 62" and fit very well in the driver & Passenger seat. Havent tested full fuel range but Im sure I can get a good 375 miles from a full tank. Many complaints about comfort, Fuel economy, gadgets. Perhaps if one test drove the vehicle first, they would see these faults and move on to something else. As far as Fuel, I didnt pick an SUV because I wanted Fuel economy, I picked it because it felt strong. If you want better gas mileage DONT BUY AN SUV. Get a Camry or an Accord Duh. No problems with braking I dont tailgate or expect to be still doing 60 mph in heavy traffic. Im lovin my Honda.

  • Ive got the peeling paint blues - 2011 Honda Pilot
    By -

Ive got an appointment to take my Pilot in a few weeks for peeling back bumper. Whats up with that? Ive been a loyal Honda owner for over 20 years and Ive never had an issue with the paint peeling. For the most part I love my Pilot. For me its much more comfortable then my 2007 CR-V was.
