  • Excellent SUV - 2003 Honda Pilot

We bought this vehicle last November and we absolutely love it. We drove north to Mont Tremblant in Canada from MA in February (pulling along our snowmobiles) and the ride was great. My brother had recently bought a Yukon and was sorry that he hadnt tried the Pilot first. We have had absolutely no issues with this vehicle to date (15k miles). The ride is just as smooth as the other Hondas I have owned. Our Pilot was imported from Canada so it has heated seats which is a big plus. Definitely worth the money (I only paid a few hundred dollars over invoice).

I like the power the Honda pilot has, The space it has is unbeated by other suvs. I had before an 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport an the diference betwen the two suvs is enormous. I am very happy to own a class vehicle

  • Never again - 2003 Honda Pilot

First Honda. Big mistake. Rattles and squeaks over Western PA roads. Problems starting in cold weather. Rear brakes cause major concern. They get stuck and heat up until they smoke. The rear wheels get so hot from the brakes, you cannot touch them. Seems worse when very cold outside. Seems like the emergecy brake gets stuck on. When they get stuck, brakes cause the car to feel like it is driving over rumble stips. Dealer cannot figure it out after several repair attempts. Claims Honda cannot figure it out and no problems reported by others. Unsafe. Trading it in with disclosure.

First Honda; now I know why their models are so popular. Good quality build; Honda knows how to incorporate the standard features you need. There are no options save for the DVD and navigation system (watch for dealer add- ons). My dealer had none; it was a good transaction for a good quality family car.

  • Ultimate SUV - 2003 Honda Pilot

After having owned a Nissan Pathfinder, Dodge Durango as well as a Ford Explorer I have an ample sense of the SUV market and I have found the best. This car brings nothing but driving pleasure. Coupled with outstanding interior and exterior design there is no true competition in its class or any other class...

  • Why buy a Lexus or Acura - 2003 Honda Pilot
    By -

The new Honda Pilot has more luxury and closer to a car-like ride than I expected. The Pilot is larger and wider than the Acura and Lexus SUV. Why pay more when you can get the quality and reliability in the Pilot. The third row seat is actually sized appropriate for use and not just a selling feature. When buying, look for a dealer with at least one years President Award for service and sales. I purchased mine from Thompson Honda in Cartersville, GA and passed two other Honda dealers on the way. The sales personnel and management have character and integrity. This is my second purchase from Thompson.

  • More room then our 1997 Expedition - 2003 Honda Pilot
    By -

We traded in our 1997 Ford Expedition because we needed 4x drive in Canada. I didnt expect to have more room in the interior but we do and it handles in the mountains much better. I hate to say it but I doubt Ill ever buy American again. With 3 kids and a Golden Retreiver we had plenty of room and no complaints on a long trip.

  • near perfect vehicle - 2003 Honda Pilot

The big three only wish they could build the quality, reliability and fun to drive of this vehicle!

  • We love every minute in it! - 2003 Honda Pilot

This is an excellent SUV! It is so unbelievably smooth. On a recent 400- mile ride it was so comfortable, I wasnt tired of driving at all. When cruising on the highway at 80 mph the cabin was so quiet (at 80 mph the engine revs at barely 2000 rpm). Power: 0-60 mph in 8 seconds!!! These 240 horses can beat many sports cars in stoplight race challenges. Fuel economy is great and the 4WD system is technical miracle. There is a lot of passenger safety features built in (e.g., automatic detection of the size and position of the front passenger, etc.). Headroom is excellent even for Shaq-size drivers and passengers). Legroom in the second row is limo-like.

  • Great SUV - 2003 Honda Pilot

Its an SUV. Better still, its an SUV designed, engineered, and built by Honda. Fuel economy is reasonable for a vehicle with a 4400 lb curb weight, but could be better. Engine has plenty of power. Ergonomics are classic Honda. Quality can be seen throughout the vehicle. This SUV is the class of its price range. Think Acura MDX, with fewer creature comforts and a much lower price tag.
