Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  • The best suv - 2003 Honda Pilot

i initially considered toyota highlander, lexus 300,4 runner, envoy and acura mdx. thought the acura was the best. this car is the mdx for $10,000 less.after 80,000 mi. i couldnt be happier. reliable, comfortable and fast. (kept up with my boxter in acceleration with my wife driving). ive replaced the tires and brake pads, the inside front door handles and changed the oil, thats all the maintenance. not a squeak from the interior and it pulled me out of a 31 inch snowfall in 4 whl low.i will buy this model again.

  • Dont do it - 2016 Honda Pilot

I cant seem to get anywhere with customer care so I am going to share my story in hopes of saving others from my misfortune with the newly designed Honda pilot. I bought a 2016 Honda pilot last February. Last week, my air conditioning began to blow warm air. I took it to a Honda dealership for a diagnostic assessment assuming that whatever was wrong would surely be covered under warranty with a car that is barely a year old. I get a call stating that they arent really sure and it may have been that a rock hit my condenser and that is not covered. The dealership stated that they see this all the time and it is in "a vulnerable place at the front of the car." I have hit absolutely nothing and have never even heard of such a possibility happening on any other car I have owned. The fix is $1200 on a basically BRAND NEW CAR. Please others be aware of this design flaw in the new Pilot and purchase something else. This is the first and last Honda I will ever own as I have been let down and feel as if I have been swindled by the company. The employee said that the condenser does have a screen which meant the pebble must have been tiny. So, apparently the tiniest of pebbles can take out an entire air conditioner in a Honda.

  • Owned for 1 Month - 2016 Honda Pilot

I have owned the Pilot for only one month, so the reliability and value are based on my expectations. As has been said in many reviews, the music system -- specifically not being able to use music on an USB -- is very disappointing. In terms of the review items above, everything is OK but I wouldnt consider anything "great". I bought this car because the seat adjustments and visibility of controls, along with the size of the SUV fit my body so I feel safe and comfortable driving it. I like the high-end comforts such as fully adjustable and leather seats, and seat warmers. Theres several features I paid for that wont see much or any use (including the rear-seat entertainment), but since they were packaged with comforts that I wanted I didnt feel there was a choice. All that said, compared to the other vehicles in this general price range, I am happy with my choice.

Great Honda quality. Spacious interior room for seating & storing. Color-modern steel, most becoming.

  • A must have!!! - 2006 Honda Pilot

After 3 months and 3000 miles of ownership I am wonderfully pleased with this purchase! I was the owner of a Toyota Camry for years and thought no one could match the satisfaction of that purchase until I purchase my Honda Pilot. I am totally pleased with the handling (handles like a car) and the looks are "off the chain"!! It is a wonderful ride and a joy in ownership. You will not be disappointed with this vehicle and even if you are (with some of the features) it wont matter - trust me.

  • A True judgment - 2016 Honda Pilot

This is an excellent suv; way much better than a Tahoe/Yukon /suburban (did have a very bad experience with a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe); it is my second Pilot and I do love it; the quality is there.

Paid 500 less than sticker on this one. Couldnt find an EXs and didnt want to order but the LX was nicely equiped. Added dealer security system and tinted glass. A pure joy to drive.

Great SUV. Fun to drive, lots of room, good looking.

  • I love the Pilot! - 2003 Honda Pilot

I love my Pilot for many reasons: great in snow/bad weather, decent fuel economy for an suv (18.5/22 mi/gal), takes regular gas, powerful, accelerates easily, very spacious, many storage compartments, comfortable interior, easy to handle (turn and park), good visibility, no problems so far. Everybody who gets in the car loves it as well. A great buy!

  • What a Great Ride! - 2004 Honda Pilot
    By -

The Honda Pilot is a reliable SUV that holds up well when other drivers bump and grind into you. The navigation system is very easy to use and gets you to your desired location easily. The interior design is techno-chic and very comfortable. The third row of seats has a great option...use one seat, keep the other down or pull them both up. Third row only fits kids and short adults though. Overall, an excellent car with a smooth ride.
