Overview & Reviews
For 2014, the Honda Pilot sees no changes.
- Comfortable ride
- Useful interior storage areas.
- Roomy third-row seat
- Lackluster braking distances
- Feels slow and cumbersome to drive
- Missing a few convenience and upscale safety features
- Some cheap interior plastics.

Just OK - 2014 Honda Pilot
By driftma - April 8 - 1:49 pmWas looking at 3 row SUVs to fit the new twins and the dog. Decided on the Pilot over the CX-9 because of cost and dealership. For utility and storage and seating, the Pilot is great. However I feel it lags when it comes to acceleration, even compared to our 2012 CRV. It definitely drives like a truck. Having a little regret because I only use it to drive the whole family once every couple of weeks. Would rather have something more fun to drive. Im also finding the seat even with all its adjustments, difficult to find the right position as of yet (1 month).

Excellent Mid-Sized SUV with Honda Reliability - 2014 Honda Pilot
By Jeff Graham - May 18 - 10:24 amThis is a great SUV. We couldnt be happier with all aspects of this vehicle. I have only three issues, that if resolved would make this almost a perfect score. The quality of the plastic used on the interior needs improvement. It scratches very easily and just light use will leave scratches throughout. In order to use the spare tire, you have to almost empty the area behind the rear seats so that you may access the rear storage compartment and crank the spare down (it is stored underneath on the exterior). Finally, the vehicle is only rated to tow 2,000 lbs. This is due, in large part, to the unibody construction and front wheel drive. You can get a 4,000 lb capacity with the full-time 4WD.

additional features no available - 2014 Honda Pilot
By geri hillegass - March 3 - 5:55 amits a very nice car, weve wanted a Pilot for a few years. There are some things that should have been standard on the car but obviously not. no tinted front window, no extendable visors, no double visors. USB port very inconveniently placed.

Horrible break rotors - 2014 Honda Pilot
By Ednilson - July 19 - 12:56 amHonda shouldve be ashamed of such a poor design on the rotor breaks. They warp every 5000 to 6000 miles. NEVER buy Honda if you can buy anything else. They treat you as a stupid at the dealership and they make a ignorant face when you mention the problem as if yours is the only one with this problem and it is probably because of you who drives it wrong way. Again, do not buy Honda if you can.

Worth the money!!! - 2014 Honda Pilot
By Mouli - April 26 - 3:21 pmBought a 2014 pilot and have been happy with it so far. Took it for a road trip (1K miles) and the ride has been wonderful. My kids enjoyed the space at the 2nd row seat. Controls are easy to understand. Only downside I would write is the squeaking noise on the front doors and looks like I am not the only one having this problem reading thru various blogs.

MAN! I wanted to love this... - 2014 Honda Pilot
By Nicole R. - May 9 - 5:38 amAs an owner of a 2005 Honda Pilot EX, and itching to get a new ride, I test drove the 2014 Honda Pilot EX-L while I was getting a new catalytic converter at the dealership. The exterior was beautiful (Im a fan of the "squarer" bodies and think the new ones blend in with everyone elses vehicle), and the interior was "standard" Honda (definitely not as appealing as a Highlander, but Im not picky). Everything was great, until I pulled onto the highway... OMG, can I just tell you that my 2005 Pilot has MUCH MORE pick up than the 2014! I have a heavy foot, and when I merge I want to get to the speed limit as soon as possible...well, not with this one. You gotta be kidding me! The salesman said it has something to do with ECON but honestly, its an SUV - I dont care about gas mileage (I know... I should...) Plus there is no way to "save on gas" with the way I drive. What a disappointment!
