Overview & Reviews
The 2005 Honda Pilot receives a new 255-hp engine, along with numerous functional changes. A tire-pressure monitoring system has been added, and EX models with leather get vehicle stability control. Slightly increased fuel capacity helps extend driving range, and a revised power steering pump provides improved on-center steering feel. Inside the cabin, the instrument panel has been tweaked with ambient lighting and a six-disc CD changer for all EX trims. A driver footrest has been added, and leather-upholstered EX models can now be had with a sunroof. The LX now has standard keyless entry, and all models get an integrated remote key and fob. Honda has made slight frame changes this year that resulted in improved IIHS crash test ratings.
- Roomy interior with eight-passenger seating, versatile storage and cargo-hauling abilities, many standard features, comfortable ride, smooth power delivery.
- Mediocre towing capacity, side curtain airbags not available, feels big behind the wheel.

Pilot Fan - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Pilot Fan - December 5 - 11:00 amThis is the best vehicle we have ever owned. It drives like a car but has more than enough room for a family of four plus dogs.

Pleasure vehicle - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Gary - December 4 - 4:56 amWeve had this vehicle 2 weeks (EXL) and it is a pleasure to drive. We traded our 2003CRVEX which was a great car,but the Pilot is so much roomier, comfortable and luxurious.I looked and compared suvs and the Pilot was the best value, and suv. No need to purhcase manufacturers packages and options, everything was standard. In 35 years of driving this is the best weve had.

Air Noise - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Sharpes - November 7 - 8:53 amThe only thing I see wrong with the Pilot is there is no option for a sun roof, and when you have windows down there seems to be a air pocket noise at a certain speed that makes you roll the windows up.

2005 Honda Pilot - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Bill Bailey - October 30 - 2:33 pmThe Pilot is a very solid feeling vehicle. It is roomy and the interior fit and finish is impecable. It is suprisingly agile and is fun to drive. It is extremely quiet around town, but there is some road noise at highway speeds. Hondas reliability has always been exceptional and the Pilot should be no different. I would recommend this SUV to anyone.

So far, so good... - 2005 Honda Pilot
By golfguy - October 14 - 3:19 pmBought this pilot used about 1 year ago and so far it has met my high expectations. It rides great, has plenty of interior room for anything we want to carry, will pull a medium sized trailer with no problem, and Im happy.

The Pilotmobile - 2005 Honda Pilot
By bearspaws - September 29 - 9:00 amWe were going to buy an Odyssey touring van but I drove the Pilot and liked it better. We were looking for something that would haul more than 5 and have legroom too. The Pilot is perfect; plenty of power, handles great, very quiet and nice to drive. We chose Nighthawk black with grey interior. I love it!

I Adore This Car - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Elizabeth - September 27 - 4:49 amThis is by far the greatest car Ive ever owned. Just had to trade it in for a CRV (financial issues) but had the EX-L, which has been almost perfection to own. I was initially worried about the size of the vehicle, but it is such a smooth ride, wisely placed windows (almost no blind spot), and with plenty of pickup, the size was irrelevant almost immediately. I particularly loved the cargo space in the back, and the very comfortable third row. The dash was generally intuitive, and the center console very accessible and full of space. The seats were incredibly comfortable, long or short drives it was amazing. Like any big SUV, would have liked better mileage, but LOVE this car!
